I have to say I loved these shoes more than I expected to! I play with a lot of women that wear Skechers and adore them, but for some reason I have always associated Skechers with older people and as a brand that I will ‘grow into’ when I retire. However, these totally changed my mentality on that. They’re cute, comfortable, and have great functionality – there really wasn’t anything not to like!
They are wider than most women’s golf shoes I have worn but I actually felt like that was a benefit because it was balanced with their amazingly comfortable insole, which meant I had room for my feet to breathe and move around a little, without any risk of blisters. I have to admit, most of the time I felt like I was walking on air.
They definitely live up to their ‘waterproof’ claim, which is pretty easy to test when you live in the UK (Skechers even give you a 1 year warranty to cover that). I have worn these on 2 wet rounds, and 2 dry rounds and felt comfortable and dry on both.

PROS
Will go with any outfit, given the nice clean design and gold accents.
Super comfortable from the first time you wear them (no need to ‘wear them in’ at home).
All weather capability as they feel light, yet are fully waterproof and have spikes
CONS
Slightly larger than expected so size down half a size

Out of the box, I was wowed. These are a great looking pair of shoes. At the time of taking them out of the box I was wearing jeans and trying them on for the first time, it was just like I had bought a fresh pair of white trainers! I love the casual style and the pink and green stripe add’s a fun pop of colour.
G/FORE for me I need to size up, so I wear a UK8. For reference this would also be my Adidas size but in FootJoy I’m a UK 7.5 – so if you’re not sure I’d size up in these.
These shoes don’t have the sharpest grips on the spineless sole but they did do a good job at keeping me stable both during the swing and walking around the course.
Having gotten a fair bit of mud on these I did find it really easy to wipe off as the upper is made from a seamless synthetic upper construction.
Overall, these are a great pair of golf shoes. I very much enjoyed wearing them out on the course and even think these could be worn casually too given their trainer style. I look forward to wearing them more.

In terms of design, I really liked these. The white synthetic leather upper is complimented well with the pink, purple, white gradient. The black cushioning from inside is shown around the ankle and is matched well with the FJ logo and black reinforced toe front.
Putting the Tour Rivals on to head to the tee I found them to have a very similar feel to the Performa shoes that I tested last year. They’re not a shoe packed with foam or padding but have a firmer feel. This is the underfoot high density molded EVA FitBed®. At first I questioned the comfort but a couple of holes in this thought was completely the opposite – they were really comfortable! 36 holes later they have been a dream, no rubbing, no niggles!
These are a spiked golf shoe with Pulsar LP cleats by SoftSpikes®. I did really enjoy the grip these provided especially as my golf course is still fairly muddy. These cleats can also be replaced so no worries about them wearing down. Whilst these are sharp cleats it was nice to see that they didn’t tear up the greens like some cleats do.
Overall, these shoes look stylish and provide a great amount of stability. Out of the box I did question their comfort but numerous rounds in I’ve not experienced any discomfort and for me that’s a real win!
PROS
Lightweight
Comfortable
Good stability
CONS
Took a few holes to get use to them

Out of the box, these shoes had the classic Adidas shaping and of course great styling. I liked that the main part of the shoe was white and then there is a nice pink/red gradient to add some colour at the back. They’re also very lightweight to hold.

These are a spikeless pair of golf shoes with a rather grippy looking sole. The teeth like nibs on the bottom certainly don’t budge during a swing.
Whilst out playing, I did get rained on several times. Some of the showers were heavier than others but all in all the Adizero’s kept my feet nice and dry. Adidas has designed these shoes with a Waterproof Sprintskin synthetic upper, so they can be worn in all conditions.
New Balance 327 SL Women’s Golf Shoe | Source: NCG
A lot of brands in recent years have shifted towards turning their popular trainer styles into golf shoes and New Balance is no different. The 327 is a style that you see a lot and now it’s in golf shoe form. I like the casual style and the fact that these are a trendy style.
They’re a spikeless golf shoe that fits with the casual styling. I think that these could easily be worn off the golf course as Spikeless NDurance Rubber Outsole is almost identical to the design you see on the trainers.
When they arrived in a UK 8.5 I was convinced that they would be too big as I typically wear a UK 7.5 or 8 in smaller fitting brands like Adidas. Length wise this came up as the perfect size which shocked me.
In terms of width, I don’t have particularly wide feet I would choose medium if an option was given. I found there to be a lot of space in the 327’s. This would be perfect for someone with wider feet but I did find that I had a lot of movement in the shoe.
Overall, these shoes look stylish and provide a great amount of stability. They’re a great option for players with wide feet. I love how versatile they are, on and off the course is both covered.

FootJoy Premiere Series Packard Women’s Golf Shoe | Source: NCG
In the golfing world these shoes are the ultimate smart yet stylish pair of golf shoes. It’s a combination of tradition in a world wear the 70s style is absolutely back in – and these deliver.
You can’t doubt that these are a sturdy golf shoe. The premium full grain leather has a premium look. Unlike some shoes these aren’t lightweight, they’re heavier with a solid feel.
I was a little unsure if these shoes would be comfortable out of the box or not, considering how firm the leather felt. I was actually really surprised that I didn’t need any time to bed them in and they were comfortable straight away. They’re not a shoe packed with padding and have a firmer underfoot feel – similar to the other FootJoy’s I’ve tested in recent years. This is the Premiere EVA midsole with performance cushioning.
Overall, these shoes look stylish and provide a great amount of stability. Out of the box I did question their comfort but numerous rounds in I’ve not experienced any discomfort and for me that’s a real win!
PROS
Solid build
Easy to clean leather upper
Great stability and traction
CONS
Not the most breathable

Straight out of the box I loved the design of these golf shoes. I was stood with a white pair of Adidas trainers on at the time and they were near enough identical. I love that I now have the option to wear such a casual and stylish shoe out on the course.

I also really liked the plain white colourway, it gives a sleek look that would be great to pair with so many different outfits.
Putting these on my feet for the first time I was impressed with how roomy they were in the toe area. I don’t have wide feet but these certainly had plenty of room for if you did. I wore them in a UK 8 which is the typical size I opt for in Adidas shoes but typically in most other brands I’m a 7.5.
Overall, these are a great pair of golf shoes. I really enjoyed the casual feel they give off. Without looking at the sole you wouldn’t know that they’re golf shoes and so they could certainly be worn in a non golf setting if needed. I look forward to wearing these more over summer.
Skechers are well known for their comfort but these absolutely don’t lack in style. Out of the box for the first time I really enjoyed the sport shoe style, they look comfortable. They have a sleek synthetic upper with a textured feel. The white colourway that fades to a darker ‘natural’ colourway looks great.
I tested the laced up version but Skechers does offer these shoes with a ‘twist fit’ or some of you may know it as BOA design. I personally prefer standard laces but I’m aware that the twist fit design is excellence for some golfer’s – much quicker and easier.
Heading out on the course I was impressed with how light these shoes were. Skechers have used their Skechers Patented Arch Fit® insole system. This offers podiatrist-certified arch support that has been developed with 20 years of data and 120,000 unweighted foot scans. This padding moulded really well to my feet and I completely forgot these were even straight out of the box.
Overall, I did really enjoy wearing these shoes. Sketchers are very much known as a comfort brand and they absolutely delivered on that.
PROS
Lightweight
Lovely fit
Good stability
CONS
Need to size down

Adidas states how these shoes are inspired by the 1970s aesthetic and they have very much nailed that. Golf fashion as a whole seems to be moving back to more traditional looks so the MC70s are very much on trend. The white leather upper feels firm and sturdy. This isn’t a synthetic leather it’s a genuine waterproof leather so it will soften with wear.
The sole has rubber spiked outsole. These are sharp and ready to grip and terrain that you need to tackle out on the course. The fastening is lace that also follows the traditional style.
With the build these shoes I knew that they would be very sturdy and supportive. The firmer leather construction meant that my ankles were very well protected. The boost midsole wasn’t packed with foam but it gave a nice level of comfort and support.
Overall, these are a great pair of golf shoes that combine a traditional style with comfort. They do a great job at supporting your feet when playing and made from quality materials they’re a great investment for any serious golfer.
PROS
Sturdy
Comfortable
Stylish
CONS
Size up on your standard

Out of the box, I love how stable these shoes look. Without being chunky they have a sporty/modern base that looks very supportive.
I was really impressed with how comfortable these were straight out of the box. The insoles in G/Fore shoes are also quite unique with their signature 3D molded design. This means your foot essentially sits on lots of tiny bumps which out of the box is quite an odd sensation but one I’m looking forward to testing more on the course. The insoles are removable so you can wash them. The mesh insides are also designed to be breathable for odour control.
In terms of stability I think that these shoes support your ankles great whilst walking around the course and during the swing. They’re not the grippiest pair of spikeless shoes that I’ve tested this year, however they did a great job in the standard Autumnal conditions I tested them in.
Overall, I really enjoyed wearing these shoes. They’re incredibly comfortable and will be getting plenty more wear from me in the future.
Out of the box, these are a fab looking pair of golf shoes. They offer a casual, athletic style thanks to the VersaTrax outsole which has a spikeless bottom. The sole is made up from small risen nibs that help to provide traction when playing.
The upper part of the shoe is made up of a plastic feeling material, that helps to provide a waterproof coating. The purple part of these shoes at the back and around the heel is leather for reinforcement.
Out on the course I really couldn’t fault these shoes. Prior to testing this grey and purple pair, I had recently purchased the white and blue colourway. I had worn these shoes during multiple practice sessions and rounds, slowly falling more in love with them. I even took them for a spin during a recently 36 hole competition, (both rounds on the same day) and walked off after 9 hours of golf with very happy, non-painful feet.
I’m a standard UK 7.5 in shoes through most brands. These FootJoy shoes are the perfect fit for my feet.
To conclude, these shoes quickly became a personal favourite of me. I really loved how they were comfy from the get go and I didn’t have to walk around my house for days trying to bed them in. I loved how after a venture into the mud they cleaned up both easily and well so that’s a huge win.
Straight out of the box, I love the look of these shoes. The soft pink and white upper looks great without being too in your face. And, the bright pink sole adds a real pop of colour during your shots. The laces that came in the shoe were white with soft pink detailing but a separate bright pink pair of laces do also come with these shoes to increase the dosage of pink. If the pink colourway is a little too much for you, GFore does offer these shoes in a white/navy colourway.
From the first shot you could tell these shoes were going to keep you grounded. The spiked sole gave so much stability which is exactly what you want from a pair of golf shoes, especially as someone like me who plays in all weather conditions. The ground outside for me is getting damper having had a lot of rain fall in the last week and it was nice to have a shoe on that I felt like I could camber up and down the hills without the fear of slipping.
In terms of cleaning these shoes up, I really didn’t want to the white and pink design to ruined after one round of golf. The premium waterproof T.P.U. absolutely did its job and made cleaning these up very easy.
Overall, these are a really solid pair of golf shoes that would see you through any weather conditions.
The best women’s golf shoes combine comfort, traction, support, and style to help you perform your best on the course. Whether you prefer lightweight spikeless golf shoes, waterproof options, or high-performance spiked designs, the right pair can improve both comfort and confidence during every round. By choosing a golf shoe that matches your playing style and course conditions, you’ll be well-equipped for success from tee to green.
How do we test golf shoes?
At National Club Golfer, we are passionate about producing accurate and thorough reviews and making sure our testing process is rigorous so we get a good understanding of how each pair of shoes performs.
Each shoe is worn out on the golf course whilst playing golf, so we can get an idea of overall performance in terms of factors like comfort, grip, stability in the golf swing, waterproof protection and how they actually look on the golf course.
What is important when buying Golf shoes?
When buying new golf footwear its important to know what attributes or features you value the most before deciding on a brand or model to buy. For example, do you want spiked or spikeless shoes?
A lot of golfers think comfort is paramount when choosing a shoe, we are going to be standing in them for 3-5 hours right? Some golf shoes on the market have special insoles and cushioned mid-soles designed to keep your feet feeling fresh. Also it’s pretty common for golfers with wide feet to wear the wrong sized pair of golf shoes so its worth getting fit properly.
Grip is vital to good performance on the golf course as any foot slip in dry or wet conditions can not only cause the golf club to swing improperly but may also lead to an injury.
Nearly all golf shoes will either be fully waterproof or offer some kind of water resistance, and this is important as real die-hard golfers play in every weather condition. Having wet feet for 4 hours is not and will never be fun.
How good the shoe looks is of course subjective to personal style, but is important to any player. Do you prefer an athletic-looking shoe, or are you more traditional? Does your shoe offer on-course off-course style or do you want shoes purely for the course? Does the style of shoe you like have the best colour options for your golfing wardrobe?
Price is the last factor to consider. With the models above we have tried to find shoes at all different price points so if you want a shoe at a lower cost, you can get one. Or if you want to spend more, you can do that too. Importantly there is something for everyone.
Do any pros wear spikeless golf shoes on tour?
As you will see on TV when watching the PGA, LPGA & DP World Tour, professionals wear both spiked and spikeless golf shoes, depending on their preference.
Some tour players are looking for extra stability and grip for maximum power creation that a spiked golf shoe might offer, and others are looking for the comfort and style that spikeless golf shoes offer. Some tour players prefer a running shoe style, and others a traditional classic leather shoe; there really isn’t a hard or fast rule as to what tour players wear.
