Best Golf Shoes for Wide Feet 2025
FitVille SpeedEx V3 Golf Shoe
They certainly are comfortable. Ludicrously so. I’m going to start getting a reputation for saying, ‘these are the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn’. But if that shoe fits…
I played in some bad weather. It was wet and rained persistently. But these shoes gripped well and planted during the swing. I’ve slipped around in such conditions with many a competitor so that was a genuine plus.
It might just be my experience. Perhaps the rain was getting through the bottom of my waterproof trousers. If you’re looking for something all-year round, though, you might want to bear this information in mind.
Given the price point, however, and the overall comfort of these shoes – which is astonishing – it is not a fatal detractor.
PROS
Incredible comfort straight out of the box
Considerable grip in wet conditions
Amazing price
CONS
There is a question mark over how waterproof they are
RRP: £69.99 / $74.99 Sizes: UK 7-13 (inc. half sizes and extra width) / US 8-14 (inc. half sizes and extra width) Colour: Grey / White Shadow Grey / White Navy Blue / White Black More info:FitVille UK / FitVille US

FitVille SpeedEx Golf Shoe V4
The FitVille SpeedEx shoes are in all fairness not going to turn any heads when you walk on to the first tee but they will get you there in comfort. They are ideal for those with wider feet with great insoles and excellent padding around the ankle for increased stability.
There is no need to break the shoes in and they are comfortable straight out of the box. The moulded cleats give excellent traction and would suit anyone looking for additional comfort and support.
The FitVille SpeedEx V4 is a really practical shoe. They perform well, especially in the wet , and are a must for those with orthopaedic conditions.
PROS
Comfort straight out of the box
Great performance in wet conditions
Perfect for those looking for a wider fit

Looks won’t be for all

A brief look at the FitVille ( I’m wondering whether it’s pronounced “Fit Vil” or “Fit Villie”) website will bring up 5 golf shoe options, so you are sure to find a pair to suit your game, all at a very reasonable price.
Throughout, the testing, I had absolutely no issues with comfortability. No rubbing, or discomfort that sometimes comes with new shoes. There’s also no need to size up or down when purchasing, I’m normally as size 11 UK and they fit perfectly.
I think they look great, too, but really for me it is about how they feel when I am wearing them. I feel close to the ground and engaged in my golf and I am in no rush whatsoever to take them off after 18 holes.
Pros:
The durability – ECCO shoes always last well in my experience but these are next-level in that regard
The shoes really wrap around the contours of your feet, which just don’t move inside the shoe
Cons:
The visuals are probably quite a lot for some more traditional golfers to get used to
Simply – they are the best golf shoes I have ever tested.
They are unbelievably comfortable, attractively designed and leaves you with the feeling a lot of thought has gone into producing a shoe to break into the golf market.
If you are looking for a new shoe for the Spring/Summer I would seriously consider the PAYNTR brand. What’s more if you get lucky with your size and colour preference there are some great deals to be had – read on to find out more
Pros:
Unbelievably comfortable
Attractive sporty style
Colourway of grey and green I loved
Cons:
Might be hard to clean and so not a 12 month a year shoe
RRP: £65.90 / $80 Sizes: UK 7-13 (inc. half sizes and extra width) / US 8-14 (inc. half sizes and extra width) Colour: Charcoal Grey / White-Navy More info:FitVille UK / FitVille US
FitVille Men’s GreenTread Golf Shoes V2
Fitville are producing shoes with multiple fitting options to maximise comfort. Their golf shoes are no exception. Along with great comfort and support they perform superbly as well.
Performance-wise there is not a lot other dislike about these shoes. Despite their width I felt well supported in both walking and hitting shots. The grip was excellent and while I only used them in dry weather, I have no doubt they will hold up well in the wet. Consequently these are a great option for a year-round shoe.
This is an extremely comfortable and good looking golf shoe, from a brand which will be a godsend particularly for those with awkward feet. It is also very well priced.
Due to the sole design I think this is certainly a shoe that can easily be worn on and off the course, soI can see it appealing to a broad range of golfer. The SpeedEx V1 is good looking, comfortable and performs pretty well. And I expect the wide toe box to be a game changer for those golfers that have painful foot conditions.
RRP: £70.90 / $83 Sizes: UK 7-13 (inc. half sizes and extra width) / US 8-14 (inc. half sizes and extra width) Colour: UK – White-Blue, Haze Grey, White-Black More info:FitVille UK / FitVille US
Adidas Retrocross 25 Spikeless Golf Shoe
I have owned my fair share of Adidas trainers in the past and these are not too dissimilar. You can be forgiven for thinking these are a regular pair of shoes at first glance. But, that is what I love about the Adidas Retrocross 25 spikes golf shoes. They can be worn anytime, anyplace including on the golf course.
Most importantly they perform fantastically. They are extremely comfortable and provide quality grip despite being spikeless. They also offer some protection from the elements with waterproof upper material. This may be the most fashionable golf shoe on the market currently.
I’m a big fan of what Adidas have done with the Codechaos golf shoe, visually. Personally, I love the sneaker-look, as our friends over the pond would say. They can match with pretty much any golf outfit, which is a big plus if you like funky golf shirts.
They are also great practically. Extremely comfortable and have fantastic levels of grip even when swinging hard. The waterproofing also works well.
It isn’t every day you come across a pair of golf shoes that you could wear on and off the golf course, but you have come across one here for sure. This isn’t to say that I would wear them out and about over a pair of trainers, but they definitely have the look and design to masquerade as a pair of trainers in social settings, and you wouldn’t bat an eyelid.
You could wear these to watch a sports event, and you could wear them in other social settings.
Pros:
Trainer/athletic look is very appealing
Comfortable with no stress on the golf course
Can be worn in off-course settings
Cons:
Some golfers might prefer a more traditional look

The fact that the Puma GS-X shoes have a wider base than where your foot sits means that during your swing there is a lot of stability. This continues when you walk around the course, especially on a hillier course like the one I play at.
Overall, I really enjoyed wearing these Puma golf shoes and they have been out on the course many times over the last month and will continue to be throughout the rest of the season.
The ECCO Biom H5 is an incredibly resilient shoe suited to the golfer who plays a lot and wants to be able to concentrate on their game in the knowledge they can trust their footwear.
For those golfers who are (still!) not accustomed to wearing spikeless shoes, I can reassure you that the ECCO sole is extremely effective in my experience. There are few slippier surfaces than a close-cut links tee in the early-morning dew and I can assure that I experienced precisely no slippage in that exact situation.
The Ecco M Golf Street 720 shoes are a premium product – and you can tell us much from the moment you slip them on to your feet. If you haven’t worn a pair of Ecco Golf Street before then you might be expecting shoe that is aimed at summer play. That just isn’t the case – even though they are very light, you can wear these shoes all year round and they will give your feet the support you need.
They are also fully waterproof and feature a GoreTex lining. There is more to the Ecco M Golf Street 720 than immediately meets the eye. I guarantee you that having a pair of Ecco M Golf Street 720 at your disposal the next time you are on a golf trip will be a real game-changer, not least in saving you some luggage.
The Taylormade SpeedSoft ink golf balls are certainly pleasing on the eye with their unique design. They offerver a consistent level of performance throughout the bag.
Pros:
Reliable comfort
The ease of movement that you only really get from a trainer
The versatility of a show you can just as easily wear off the course
Cons:
Only the price tag (but not at American Golf – see below)

Better known for producing quality cricket shoes Payntr have now entered the golf market. It is not often a new golf shoe comes along and you think, yep, I might just consider shifting allegiance and move away from the more established brands. Having tested these shoes I do think they could be a disruptor in the market. Along with Jason Day, I would happily be a Payntr brand champion!
The 19th hole section of this review is arguably the easiest of any review I have produced. The New Balance 480 SL Golf Shoes are perfect on the course (obviously) and off it. You would not look out of place at all wearing these shoes out and about.
Whether you are out enjoying a drink or attending a sports event, you will feel comfortable and secure in these golf shoes. I would be shocked if anyone recognised them as golf shoes, which should be to New Balance’s credit, as they have mixed athleticism with a faint hint of tradition.
Pros:
Comfy and lightweight feel
Colourway is great
Trainer-feel increases comfort and confidence
Cons:
Some golfers might prefer more traditional looks

Let there be no doubt. These will be my go-to golf shoes for 2025. They look great, particularly the red, white and blue model I tested, and they feel great too.
This is the big thing for me. If you’re going to be walking six miles during round and you’re going to do that dozens of times a year, comfort has to be king. You can’t have anything on your feet that’s going to bring any discomfort.
These New Balance 574s prioritise that. It’s dead easy to say, ‘these are the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn’, and internet sleuths will no doubt find various other reviews where I’ve said the same in the past.
But the standard is getting better with every single year. You don’t have to stand for a rigid style and a model that makes your feet sweat like a swimming pool. You can have performance and you can have incredible comfort at the same time. You can have both with these 574s.
Pros:
Sneaker fans will adore them
Stretch suits even my duck feet
Very sturdy and stable despite the look
Cons:
Traditionalists might turn their nose up

The sole is a ‘TR functional cup sole’ and although it is not the thickest (don’t try and knock sand off your clubs with your feet), it provides good comfort and stability. The 5mm square-shaped nubs on the sole of the shoe give you traction throughout the summer months, whether you’re in the fairway or the thick rough.
Duca Del Cosma say on their website that the purpose of the Giordano shoe is ‘for on and off the course’, and they are not wrong. As you can see from the picture above, I have worn these shoes quite a lot on the course, leading to a loss of whiteness and some discolouration in the leather, but that proves how good they are, right?
Not only are the Giordano shoes comfortable on the course, but you could very easily wear them on a night out, or a shopping trip, and no-one would know you were wearing a pair of golf shoes.
Overall, I very much like the Duca Del Cosma Giordano golf shoe, and it will certainly remain my summer golf shoe until I completely wear them out. They really are just that good!
Pros:
Comfortable
Stylish
Don’t need wearing in at all
Can be worn off course
Cons:
Not a wet-weather shoe

Duca Del Cosma Positano Golf Shoe
I rarely come across a pair of shoes I can use for all these activities, but the Duca Del Cosma Positano golf shoes might just be the ones. The first big win for these shoes is how waterproof they are; my first test was out at Sand Moor in Leeds, and whilst the course is pretty dry at the moment, it is damp in spots, and my feet remained dry throughout the whole round. Amazingly my back foot didn’t slip, which generally happens in spikeless shoes. This is a huge nod to the Positano golf shoes and their large spikeless nubs on the sole.
These are probably more designed to be spring-summer golf shoes, so I won’t wear them out on a wet British course again. I did take them to Majorca on a 3-day press trip and wore them nonstop on the golf course. The ultra-lightweight EVA outsole makes them very comfortable and easy to wear for long periods of time.
Something I love about these shoes is how hard-wearing they feel. I do a lot of miles in golf shoes and have had a few pairs that only last six months or so, but you can tell that these Positano shoes are different. They are built to last and easy to care for.
Pros:
Extremely comfy
Look very smart
Big, thick spikeless nubs
Very waterproof
Cons:
I don’t have enough pairs!

The golf apparel landscape continues to move towards a more casual, sporty and lifestyle styling. Fewer people are wearing traditional golf clothes and shoes. But, I think we would all agree that there is space for traditional wear in golf still, and its presence should be maintained.
Practically, I found the shoes to perform well. The amount of traction these J.Lindeberg Fairway Brogue golf shoes offered was tremendous. When I tested them out, the ground was wet, so it was a fairly rigorous testing of their capabilities. At no point did I want a better grip from the shoes.
They still have the comfort of a sneaker golf shoe due to their EVA Midsole and Rubber Outsole. Throughout testing, I suffered no issues with soreness or rubbing, even in slightly wet conditions.
Additionally, the waterproofing is also very good. J.Lindeberg attributes this to the use of seam seal technology and the premium waterproof full-grain leather, which is used to craft the golf shoes.
Pros:
Sneaker style but still look traditional
Good traction
Waterproof
Sole is comfortable
Cons:
Reduced off-course use compare to other sneaker style shoes

How do we test golf shoes?
At National Club Golfer, we are passionate about producing accurate and thorough reviews and making sure our testing process is rigorous so we get a good understanding of how each pair of shoes performs.
Each shoe is worn out on the golf course whilst playing golf, so we can get an idea of overall performance in terms of factors like comfort, grip, stability in the golf swing, waterproof protection and how they actually look on the golf course.
What is important when buying Golf shoes?
When buying new golf footwear its important to know what attributes or features you value the most before deciding on a brand or model to buy. For example, do you want spiked or spikeless shoes?
A lot of golfers think comfort is paramount when choosing a shoe, we are going to be standing in them for 3-5 hours right? Some comfortable golf shoes on the market have special insoles and cushioned mid-soles designed to keep your feet feeling fresh. Also it’s pretty common for golfers with wide feet to wear the wrong sized pair of golf shoes so its worth getting fit properly.
Grip is vital to good performance on the golf course as any foot slip in dry or wet conditions can not only cause the golf club to swing improperly but may also lead to an injury. Golfers need excellent traction.
Nearly all golf shoes will either be fully waterproof or offer some kind of water resistance, and this is important as real die-hard golfers play in every weather condition. Having wet feet for 4 hours is not and will never be fun.
How good the shoe looks is of course subjective to personal style, but is important to any player. Do you prefer an athletic-looking shoe, or are you more traditional? Does your shoe offer on-course off-course style or do you want shoes purely for the course? Does the style of shoe you like have the best colour options for your golfing wardrobe?
Price is the last factor to consider. With the models above we have tried to find shoes at all different price points so if you want a shoe at a lower cost, you can get one. Or if you want to spend more, you can do that too. Importantly there is something for everyone.
What brands produce the best golf shoes?
All of the products in this best golf shoes for wide feet 2024 article are picked from the brands that offer what we believe to be the best shoes on the market.
Do any pros wear spikeless golf shoes on tour?
As you will see on TV when watching the PGA, LPGA & DP World Tour, professionals wear both spiked and spikeless golf shoes, depending on their preference.
Some tour players are looking for extra stability and grip for maximum power creation that a spiked golf shoe might offer, and others are looking for the comfort and style that spikeless golf shoes offer. Some tour players prefer a running shoe style, and others a traditional classic leather shoe; there really isn’t a hard or fast rule as to what tour players wear.
