Castore Fitted Hybrid Gilet

5 star review
castore golf

NOW £125

The Castore hybrid jacket is probably one of my favourite items from Castore this year.

It looks great, lightweight and a great option to stay warm in the fall season of golf.

Castore have designed this for optimal range in mobility, they have done so excellently. Despite it being slim fitting, it doesn’t hamper your ability to swing all your clubs at all, in fact you barely notice you are wearing it and still reap the benefits of staying warm in the colder days.

It also bodes well for a light shower, designed with a weatherproof woven panel and water-resistant trims, ideal for the unexpected shower.

Overall, I really like this garment. A secured staple in my wardrobe for the autumnal golf ahead.

My only drawback would be that if you prefer a slightly longer fitted gilet, I would recommend getting a size up. I am 6ft 1, and the XL sits just on my waistline which I personally don’t mind.

PROS

  • Lightweight
  • Stylish
  • Comfortable

CONS

  • Only available in 1 colour

Sizes: S – 2XL
Colour: Midnight navy

Castore Seamless Long Sleeve Mock Neck

4 star review
castore golf

RRP £65

The Castore seamless long sleeve mock neck is a great addition for those looking to layer up this winter. The mesh ventilation across the entire garment allows for great breathability and sits very tight to the body… or I hope it is meant to anyway!

Once the round started you barely realise you have it on. I complimented it the Castore gilet which felt great, kept me extremely warm and the mobility of the layers wasn’t even a consideration for my round.

The design of the garment also looks great, it is available in three colours and the Castore branding on the sleeve, just below the neck on the rear and on the left side of the chest looks smart with cluttering the design.

Overall the mock neck was very comfortable and practical for squeezing in an extra layer on those chillier of days.

PROS

  • Comfortable
  • Smart

CONS

  • The fit may not be for everybody

Sizes: S-XL
Colour: Cabernet / Navy / White / Grey

Castore Onyx Golf Tech Trousers

5 star review
castore golf

RRP £95

The Castore Onyx Golf Tech Trousers are a great option for the Autumn/Winter golf season. I like to think of myself as a die hard, shorts at all times golfer. But needs must, and the UK winter is either getting colder or I am getting older.

The Onyx trousers are built with four-way stretch material which performs excellently for mobility around the golf course. Pleasingly this mobility isn’t sacrificed through lack of warmth, they are extremely comfortable, wind resistant and an ideal option for the chillier of golf days. The fit is a classic tapered look which looks great, I personally prefer a slimmer fitted golf trousers so these fit the bill excellently.

Lastly, the design of the trousers is also very clean. I got to test the black version which looked great. The branding is placed just off the right pocket of the trousers and is also black which looks really good and keeps the design of the trousers very neat.

PROS

  • Great looking, clean aesthetic
  • Comfortable
  • Warm

CONS

  • None

Sizes: S-XL
Colour: Black/Midnight Navy

Castore Golf Softshell Tech 1/2 zip

5 star review
castore golf

RRP £90

The Castore soft shell tech half zip is another great option from Castore for those like to layer up.

It offers a soft, comfortable feel but also sits nicely on your body so it doesn’t hamper your swing movement in anyway.

The zip pocket on the chest is a helpful addition as well, ideal for storing your phone, scorecard or anything you see fit. It is built with a breathable grid fleecing for warmth and water resistant trims which makes it the perfect fit for cooler weather (and frustratingly wet) weather.

Overall I really like this garment, it is extremely comfortable, the design is smart and kept me suitably warm throughout my round of golf.

Whilst I do like the design, I can understand why it may not be for everyone’s taste with the multi site of branding on the arms, chest and back of the neck.

PROS

  • Comfortable
  • Warm
  • Smart

CONS

  • Design may not be for everybody

Sizes: XS-2XL
Colours: Midnight Navy / Stone Grey

Castore Flyweight Jacket

4.5 star review
castore golf

NOW £165

The Castore flyweight jacket is a smart simple design. Lightweight, built with four-way stretch material and water resistant trims. An ideal addition for your winter golf wardrobe.

It was a joy to wear around the course, extremely comfortable and the mobility was excellent. There is adjustable cuffs on the sleeve that have multiple velcro options to dictate the tightness around your wrist.

The comfort of the jacket was also thanks to the mesh ventilation installed at the back of the jacket, a really nice addition to help you keep on top of your temperature.

Not that I have any intention on playing in the harsher of conditions any time soon, but if I did I probably wouldn’t reach for the flyweight jacket. It is suggested in the name already, but I’d opt for something heavier and more water resistant for those who venture into the braver golf weather.

PROS

  • Smart
  • Lightweight
  • Great mobility

CONS

  • Quite expensive

Sizes: S-XL
Colour: Navy
