The Qi10 was the 2024 offering from TaylorMade and was in the bag for Rory’s 2025 and 2026 Masters victories! Clearly trusted by Rory – could this be a 3-wood for you?

The Qi10 was the 2024 offering from TaylorMade. Rory McIlroy had it in his bag when he won the 2025 Masters and left it in the bag when he claimed back-to-back Green Jackets. He changed his driver and 5-wood to the new TaylorMade Qi4D 2026 model when claiming the 2026 Masters but stuck with the 2024 Qi10 for his 3-wood. So, is clearly a model he trusts when it comes to the 3-wood – a club so many of us struggle to hit!

Is this for everyone? We tested it out back in 2024 to see how it performed and loved it – it is also available at a discounted price and so is a real bargain.

TaylorMade Qi10 Fairway Wood Review: First Impressions

Many woods these days, while looking great, are not shy about displaying their futuristic technology. Not so the TaylorMade Qi10, which has a pleasing simplicity to its looks.

Do not be deceived, though, as these woods are brimming with the technology you would expect from a 2024 club.

There is no adjustable hosel, which gives it a sleeker look and allows the freedom to optimise the weight distribution and lower the centre of gravity to deliver longer distances. The infinity crown, made from carbon, also contributes to this. This lower CG makes it easier to launch, giving a mid-high launch and mid-low spin.

Other features are the Thru-Slot speed pocket to optimise ball speed on low-face hits and twist-face technology to straighten those less-than-perfect strikes.

TaylorMade has also integrated V-Steel technology into the sole, which helps improve club-to-turf interaction.

TaylorMade Qi10 Wood Review: NCG Verdict

I tested a 15° 3 wood with a Fujikura Ventus TR FW 6 stiff shaft using a Foresight GC3 launch monitor at the Worksop Indoor Golf Centre. I also compared this to my current 15-degree 3 wood.

Jumping straight to the data, my carry and overall distance were fairly similar to my current 3 wood. Behind the ball, it looked great, and TaylorMade described an advanced laser alignment feature that allows for precision aim. I certainly felt very confident that I had the club-face square at address.

Off the deck, it was relatively easy to hit and not intimidating. I found off-centre hits to be fairly forgiving, which one would expect given the technology. Off a tee, I gained about 5 yards or so. The flight was a standard trajectory for my 3 wood.

TaylorMade has produced a slightly more traditional-looking fairway wood (as much as any modern wood can look traditional). There are a multitude of lofts available (see below), and I do not see the lack of an adjustable hosel as a negative. In many ways, it is an advantage as it allows for optimum weight distribution. I would always recommend a custom fitting, as getting the correct combination of shaft and loft will produce the best performance for your swing and also get the gapping correct. TaylorMade is marketing the Qi10 as the fairway wood for all levels of golfers (compared to their Qi10 max and Qi10 tour). I concur, and I think they have successfully blended high tech with a clean simple style.
