Motocaddy PROTEKTA golf bag review: First Impressions

Unbelievably light

Having used Motocaddy products in the past, it was great to get to test their premium cart bag. I was surprise how light the Protekta Cart Bag was as I removed it from the box and first impressions were that it was a colossus of a bag – yet lightweight.

Innovative club organisation

You are immediately drawn to the innovative club organisation that this bag brings. With 14 dividers for your clubs but designated slots for each iron, ensuring they are protected from each other. It makes organising your clubs very easy and means there is no noise from clubs hitting each other.

Motocaddy PROTEKTA golf bag review: NCG Review

Conservative colours

Motocaddy have kept it simple when it comes to colour options with your choices restricted to white / grey or charcoal / black. The charcoal / black bag that I tested was a great looking bag and it worked superbly well with the Motocaddy trolley I was using.

Easy to put in and out of the boot

Well placed handles makes it very easy to manoeuvre the bag in and out of the car and setting up on the trolley. I liked the rubberised back that meant there was no slippage when sat on the cart.

Pockets, stability and no going back

With 10 pockets you will never be short of storage space and the main pockets are absolutely vast. They are well designed and it makes accessing all of the pockets really easy once set up. I would have preferred a double zip set up for the front pockets but the quality is superb and they seem very durable.

Strap channels ensure that there are no loose handles when walking down the fairway and provide brilliant stability on the trolley.

The club organiser system is a great design, with all of your clubs clearly visible and easy to access as you look to use them. It would be difficult to go back to the more traditional dividers that bags use once you experience this.

The best accessory ever

Motocaddy really seem to have thought about everything with this design and it really does feel like the premium cart bag out there. It makes your round easy and has the added bonus of providing a built in bottle opener if your game is not quite going to plan.

Motocaddy PROTEKTA golf bag Review: Final Thoughts

The Motocaddy Protekta didn’t disappoint. Premium, waterproof materials, vast pockets and superb club organisation make it a real standout. No clanking clubs make for a peaceful round and the well placed handles make it easy to move around.
