As all 24 players will wear official team outfits, it’s their shoes which gives them a chance to stand out. We round up the models on show at Le Golf National

All 24 players at this years Ryder Cup will be ditching their normal attire for official team wear.

Apart from their shoes.

The Ryder Cup has traditionally offered brands the chance to show off new models and special limited edition styles.

So which brands can we expect to see on show in Paris this week? Here’s a breakdown with the numbers of players for each…

Nike: 10
Adidas: 5
FootJoy: 4
Puma: 2
G/Fore: 2
Under Armour: 1

And we won’t forget about European Captain Thomas Bjorn who is an Ecco ambassador…

But let’s take a look at what the players will be wearing and which models you can get your hands on…

Under Armour

Jordan Spieth will be the only player at the 2018 Ryder Cup wearing Under Armour shoes.

“Most of the time you’re competing against these guys, so it’s really fun to come together as teammates,” said Spieth.

“That camaraderie is part of what makes watching team sports so electrifying, and for golf to have a ‘team-sport’ moment like this is really special.”

So it’s no surprise to see that there is a special Spieth 2 Ryder Cup edition to mark the event.

Read our review of the fantastic Spieth 2 shoes here.

More information can be found on the Under Armour website.

FootJoy

As overwhelming market leaders we will be seeing a few players on both teams sporting FJ shoes at Le Golf National…

Henrik Stenson, Ian Poulter will be wearing Icons and Pro SL respectively for Team Europe while Webb Simpson and Justin Thomas will both be staying classy with Icons.

Look out for the vice-captains too with Padraig Harrington, Zach Johnson and Steve Stricker all likely to be representing the brand.

Read our FootJoy reviews here.

Adidas

Dustin Johnson,  Sergio Garcia, Justin Rose, Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton will be rocking a range of Adidas shoes.

Look out for these limited edition Tour 360 Boost which we’ve got a pair of to give away so get over to our competitions page to enter.

More information can be found on the Adidas website.

Nike

More players will be wearing Nike shoes than any other brand at the 2018 Ryder Cup.

Rory McIlroy, Tommy Fleetwood, Francesco Molinari, Alex Noren, Thorbjorn Olesen and Paul Casey are the European Nike staffers.

Those on Team USA are Tiger Woods (obviously), Brooks Koepka, Tony Finau and Patrick Reed.

And watch out for Casey’s caddie John ‘long socks’ McLaren who will no doubt have a special pair of retro Air Jordan high tops on and some special Team Europe socks.

More information can be found on the Nike website.

Puma

Rickie Fowler and Bryson Dechambeau will be wearing a range of Puma Ignite shoes across the three days.

But the brand have introduced these new Suede options to mark the tournament.

They are even signed by Fowler himself.

G/Fore

Bubba Watson will undoubtedly be wearing the loudest and most patriotic pair of shoes with these G/Fore efforts.

Ryder Cup veteran Phil Mickelson also wears G/Fore shoes but his won’t be quite as in your face – but they do carry his famous Masters-winning celebration from 2004.

More information can be found on the G/Fore website.
