Introduction
When it comes to golf shoes, I don’t think I could be any more picky with what I choose to wear. I don’t tend to gravitate to more traditional looking golf shoes, they aren’t really my style of shoe.
It’s no wonder then that I have, and have had, my fair share of Under Armour golf shoes. For a while now I have been a big fan of their golf wear and golf shoes in general.
The style matches what I am looking for down to T and they are some of the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. All that being said, these new Under Armour golf shoes have a lot to live up to – so lets dive in to my full Under Armour Halo Tour spikeless golf shoe review….

First Impressions
As first impressions go, these Under Armour Halo shoes passed the test with flying colours. If I am being truthful 99% of what makes a pair of golf shoes appealing to me or not is their looks.
In terms of that, these are right up my street. They look more like a pair of trainers or shoes you would wear in a social setting rather than on the golf course.
The golf traditionalists amongst you might not be keen on these as I am, but I think if you are looking for a more casual look to your golf wardrobe then these are a top tier option.
Sizing
I’m a size 11 and these fit to size, no issues. I don’t think I have experienced many problems previously with any of the Under Armour shoes I have owned in the past in terms of sizing. For the majority of the time, I have found them to be very consistent in this regard. This fit is regular and from what I can find there doesn’t seem to be a wide option available which may be a slight hinderance for those of who require a slightly wider option.

What I found
Predjudicailly, I considered these shoes to be somewhat of a summer shoe. I don’t play much winter golf, so that is really the only time I wear my golf shoes for most of the year. But living in England, we are hardly guaranteed a hot and dry summer all of the time.
The conditions I tested these in were far from the summer months we are hopefully going to enjoy this year. It wasn’t raining when I hit the course in these but it was particularly muddy. I had no issues with my feet or socks getting wet at any point during the round, so the waterproofing worked in that sense – even if it wasn’t rigorously tested by the weather.

Straight out of the box these were extremely comfortable. I expect nothing less from a pair of Under Armour shoes now. Their HOVR Cushioning is really effective and enables you to have a slight spring in your step. I can see these working well in the summer when the ground is harder and the walk around the course is slightly more punishing on the feet.
Stability
Under Armour has developed their own Swing Support Stabilizer. This includes a TPU heel lock & underfoot propulsion plate for biomechanically-correct support. I’m not completely sure on the science behind it, but whatever it does, it does it well.

Many golf courses may be fairly muddy at the moment in the UK with the amount of rain we have had so far this year, therefore stability is probably has a greater emphasis on it than normal. I know some of you will have some concerns over whether spikeless options are as effective here, but in my experience I have felt no drop off. They also didn’t tear up the ground or leave a bit footprint on the greens in their wake.
Easy clean
The sole parts of the shoes, which goes around the outside of the bottom, is a little harder to clean. The design and pattern make it a little tricky to get all the mud off but I was able to wipe the majority of it. Equally, the upper part of the shoe is a lot easier to clean.
Waterproof qualities
Like I said, the conditions were surprisingly dry when I tested these out so I can’t give you a comprehensive review of the waterproofing. Visually, if that counts for anything, they look sturdy enough. Under Armour say they come fitted with a fully waterproof membrane on their website. Just by feeling the upper part of the shoe, it does give the impression it would hold up well in a downpour.

NCG Final Say
Looking down at these, it almost feels and looks like you have a pair of gym shoes on rather than a pair of golf shoes. I think this feeds into the slightly more sporty angle Under Armour comes with and why their shoes are so popular with golfers.
How they compare to other shoes
Rather instinctively I compare these closer to other sports wear brands. So, the likes of Adidas and Nike. I have always thought Under Armour competes with these two heavyweights really well and the comfort of these Halo ones match any golf shoe I have tested over the last year.
