First Impressions

There are countless options in the golf shoe market. Whatever style, features or budget there will be something available. The one thing that is less common is the option for multiple widths and shoes designed with an emphasis on foot health. The details of the various technologies Fitville have developed for all their shoes are beyond the scope of this review. I would recommend reading this on their website which also outlines their commitment to sustainability and ethical employment practices.

FitVille Men's GreenTread Golf Shoes V2 Review

On first appearance I liked the clean modern look to the shoe. The various specs include a vegan leather upper which is water-resistant. I gave them a good soaking and my feet stayed dry. The soles have 7 removable, anti-clog cleats with an anti-torsion TPU insert. They also have a heel cup to increase stability. FitVille explain that the midsole is made from 58-degree secondary foamed EVA which is light and delivers superior energy return. The insole also has a high instep. A wide toe design provides comfort for those with conditions such as bunions or hammer toes. My experience of testing countless golf shoes is that the sizes are fairly uniform or, if not, tend to be slightly small or narrow. FitVille are definitely providing a much needed option.

The Greentread V2 comes in medium (D) or wide (E2) widths. Not having particularly wide feet I opted for the medium and they are roomy to say the least. I could get them to fit reasonably with some judicious tightening of the laces but they were a bit too wide for me. This is not a criticism however as potential buyers should be reassured that they do genuinely provide the increased width promised.

On Course Testing

Performance-wise there is not a lot other dislike about these shoes. Despite their width I felt well supported in both walking and hitting shots. The grip was excellent and while I only used them in dry weather, I have no doubt they will hold up well in the wet. Consequently these are a great option for a year-round shoe.

FitVille have done a great job in fulfilling a genuine need. Their website is packed with information about what seems an innovative and thoughtful company. If you have wide feet then look no further. They are also exceptional value.
