Layering has become quite the thing. A base layer, a t-shirt, a mid layer, a jacket. Four layers then, but what about my arms!

Long-sleeved polos to the rescue and this from Sounder is a sturdy well made, well-cut, on-course off course dream.

Sounder Long Sleeve Play Well polo review: First impressions

The Sounder Long Sleeve Play Well Polo is just really cool. I love plain, block colours, and I am much more interested in understated, well-cut clothes than I am in showy brand names. Normcore, if you will. Sounder delivers this and it is less on course off course, more just decent clobber that you can definitely play golf in.

Sounder Long Sleeve Play Well polo review

The Long Sleeve Play Well Polo is available in navy and pine green. I requested pine green and I am glad I did as it goes with loads of different coloured trousers and outerwear. It also makes for a bit of variety in my otherwise blue and grey wardrobe.

The shirts are a heavyish and feel durable, there is very cool, subtle star symbol on the shoulder which sets off an otherwise classic classic cut.

Sounder Long Sleeve Play Well polo review: On The Course

I have worn this more than once to play golf in. Under a jumper, over a base layer and under a jacket and on a milder autumn day as a tee. It is great to play in as it can be tucked in or untucked.

The cut is clearly with golf in mind as there isn’t loads of fabric hanging around and the sleeves are a very good length for golf. It looks on point with all buttons done up or undone which is not the case with all polos.

Sounder Long Sleeve Play Well polo review: The 19th hole

This should really say Sounder long sleeved polo: real life. There are no golf tells about this polo. I would happily wear it to the pub, or to our dress down office. Lots of my non golfing friends have asked about the brand and that has to be progress!
