Plantar fasciitis is the inflammation of a thick band of tissue that runs across the bottom of each foot and connects the heel bone to the toes. If you’ve suffered from plantar fasciitis before, it’s pretty painful. It involves an intense stabbing pain felt in the heel and bottom of the foot.
The cause of this type of heel pain isn’t yet clear, but identified risk factors include long periods of standing, excessive walking or running, or a constant inward rolling of the foot. Golfers with plantar fasciitis should be looking for slightly heavier shoes that are ergonomically designed to offer comfort and support the foot during the golf swing.
On the other hand, you should be avoiding narrow golf shoes. These restrict the forefoot, and some golfers have wider feet than others.
So let’s take a look at our favourite golf shoes for plantar fasciitis on the market for the 2026 season. Our line-up includes brand-new and older models that are best suited to support your feet when you play golf.

BEST FOR STABILITY
Under Armour Drive Pro Clone Golf Shoe

Straight out of the box, the Drive Pro Clone feels unlike a traditional golf shoe, extremely soft and doesn’t require any break-in time.
The grip is without doubt the biggest plus point and standout feature of the Drive Pro Clones. I’m a big believer that comfort is king, when it comes to golf shoes. These are certainly comfortable, which is further enhanced by dual-density cushioning.
The softer foam on the inside for better comfort and firmer foam on the outside for increased stability and more effective weight transfer through the swing. It’s a clever balance Under Armour has struck with this and one, I found during longer rounds this was where they excelled.
They come in spiked and spikeless options.
Pros:
- Phenomenal grip
- Extremely stable throughout the golf swing
- No break-in period needed
Cons:
- Sporty design won’t appeal to traditionalists

BEST TRADITIONAL LOOKING
Payntr Eighty Seven SC Golf Shoe

There is a tongue and booty unit made from Ariaprene which Payntr says offers supreme foot lockdown which affords stability and support. There is also a nitrogen infused footbed which promises lightweight and responsive cushioning for the lifetime of the shoe.
Looking at the bottom of the shoes there is a propulsion plate made from a proprietary Carbitex material which is said to enable the golfer to better use ground reaction forces. And finally the sole is shod with seven removable Softspike Tour Flex Pro cleats as well as a plethora of nubbins and chevrons, also of which goes to promote first class traction and stability.
Performance has been first-class. They remained extremely comfortable throughout, with no hint of soreness or rubbing, so the nitrogen infused moulded foot bed certainly did the job
Pros:
- Smart and clean appearance.
- Extremely comfortable.
- Premium construction and performance.
Cons:
- Laces look a bit flimsy

EASIEST TO PUT ON
Skechers Blade Tour Slip-In Golf Shoes

This shoe was as expected, comfortable from the start and I was looking forward to the promised improvement as the Arch fit insole moulded to my feet. This is Sketchers premium Tour product and the stability is extremely good. The forefoot section is wider than expected and the heel stability felt solid.
The Arch Fit technology moulds to your feet, making them even more comfortable.
The shoe feels stable, the forefoot section is wider as is common with this brand and helps to improve stability on even the most vigorous swings!

The improved distance and less dispersion claims I cannot vouch for but they are evidently helping to support Matt Fitzpatrick with his game – 3 PGA Tour wins thus far in 2026 is pretty impressive.
Pros:
- Great design
- Improved on the previous model
- Helps with stability and support
- Hands free slip in
Cons:
- If anything a lack of added inclusions for the price – for example a shoe bag

BEST WOMEN’S GOLF SHOE
New Balance 327 SL Women’s Golf Shoes

When they arrived in a UK 8.5 I was convinced that they would be too big as I typically wear a UK 7.5 or 8 in smaller fitting brands like Adidas. Length wise this came up as the perfect size which shocked me.
In terms of width, I don’t have particularly wide feet I would choose medium if an option was given. I found there to be a lot of space in the 327’s. This would be perfect for someone with wider feet but I did find that I had a lot of movement in the shoe.
These shoes feature durable compound reinforces in high-wear areas so places like the toe and heel have that extra support. This is nice as I walked off the course and they still looked just as good as when I first put them on – something that I believe will continue with their style and design.
Pros:
- Lightweight
- Comfortable
- Stylish
Cons:
- Only the price tag

BEST SPIKED GOLF SHOE
SQAIRZ Limited Edition NF1990 Golf Shoe

The squared-off toe is what makes this shoe immediately stand out from competitor brands, and it did initially look a little strange. However, as is usually the situation, I quickly got used to it. I wasn’t sure about the idea of a more spacious toe box because I like to feel that my feet are cocooned inside a golf shoe but I have to say it worked well. There was plenty of space for my toes but no sense of looseness.
The comfort is provided by some excellent lightweight padding offered by the whole of the shoe. The heel counter ensured strong stability such that my foot felt securely contained in position.

The UK size 7 (Euro 41) size fitted my usually sized 7.5 wide foot closely out of the box. I am normally a wide size and the fit suited me fine, but for those with narrower feet, this shoe might not work so well.
Pros:
- Premium and classic appearance.
- Made from full-grain leather.
- ‘Limited edition’ appeal.
Cons:
- Looks won’t be for all.

Adidas S2G Spikeless Leather 24 Golf Shoe

The strength of the heel epitomised the steely nature of the shoe. The material of this Adidas item is very durable, and I felt secure and comfortable while wearing it for this reason.
The laces at the top of the shoe are not too suffocating. You have the option of not using the holes at the very end of the laces, allowing your feet to breathe and feel comfortable when you’re playing 18 holes.
Although they don’t have spikes, I felt plenty of grip underfoot when I was walking and when I was swinging my clubs.
It is no exaggeration to say that the Adidas S2G Spikeless Leather 24 golf shoes became one of my favourites from the moment I took them out of the box. The design is very much in season.

Pros:
- Colourway of Cloud White-Collegiate Green-Gum was brilliant
- Sturdy and solid base around my feet
- Spikeless design was comfortable
Cons:
- Some golfers may prefer spiked shoes
