What is the world’s longest golf hole?
Part of the beauty of playing golf around the world is that every hole is unique, you’ll encounter something different every time you step onto a tee box. But have you ever played the world’s longest golf hole? Or even got close?
We seem to always be going on about golf courses getting longer and longer – Tiger proofing and all that – but largely the world’s longest golf holes are created for the novelty factor, as we’ll find out…
So what is the world’s longest golf hole?
Let’s count down…
5. TPC Colorado – 13th
The 13th at TPC Colorado, home of the Colorado Championship on the Korn Ferry Tour, weighs in at 773 yards.

But it’s not even the longest golf hole in the United States. We’ll get there…
4. Penati – 15th (Legend’s Course)
A particularly relevant hole in 2019 as the Challenge Tour lands in Slovakia.
Also a par 6, the pros will take on this beast at the D&D Real Challenge where all 783 yards will be tested.

3. Meadow Farms Golf Course – 12th
Heading back to the US and we find the country’s longest hole located in Virginia at Meadows Farms.
The 12th plays as a par 6 and is as long as 841 yards from the back tees. It is a stunner.
Playing up to a green which is fronted by a beautifully designed water hazard, at least it looks nice while golfers try to conquer it.
2. Satsuki Golf Club – 7th
The 7th at Satsuki in Japan is so long we have to make the step up to a par 7.
Measuring a whopping 964 yards, it is officially the world’s longest golf hole according to the Guinness World Records. So why does it come in at No. 2 on our list?
1. Gunsan Country Club – 3rd (Jeongeup Course)
That’s because Gunsan in South Korea boasts a hole that weighs in at a staggering 1,097 yards.
Needless to say it is the Stroke Index 1 and it is also a par 7, meaning if you hit the green in 5 that’s a GIR for your stats.
The problem? There’s water everywhere.

What about on the main tours?
Of the current courses on the European Tour schedule, that record belongs to Green Eagle Golf Course, host of the Porsche European Open, where the 16th measures 663 yards.
Across the Atlantic (and some of the Pacific), the 18th at Kapalua, home of the PGA Tour’s Sentry Tournament of Champions measures out at, bizarrely, 663 yards also.
