With the compiling of the England list for 2024 at its end, where do our panellists want to visit next in this spectacular golfing country?
Our individual panellists will not have played every course on the new English list, meaning that there are some courses that they want to get to as soon as they can!
From courses at the very top of the NCG Top 100s: England list, to those hidden gems that might not have been properly seen yet, our panellists have a wide range of choices.
Royal St George’s – which sits at the top of the NCG Top 100s: England list – is at the top of some of our panel’s list, but where else do they want to play next in England?

Where in England do our panellists want to visit next?
Dan Murphy: I still haven’t found my way to the RAC Club and I would like to see the ongoing work at Pleasington.
Steve Watton: There is so much strength in depth in the south east and whilst I have played most of the big names, I’m still to visit several of the lesser known clubs. Coombe Hill is one example.
Greg Webber: Dunstanburgh Castle and Yelverton were the two in the 2022 list that I haven’t played, and alas I didn’t manage to get there this year either
Steve Carroll: A blindingly obvious answer but I’ve been forlornly looking at pictures of Sunningdale (Old) for too long. One day.
Neil Gray: Cleeve Hill – to see if the hype is justified.

Craig Morrison: Alister MacKenzie’s northern courses, specifically Alwoodley and Moortown.
Chris Myatt: Worplesdon – whilst I live relatively nearby and have had many invites, I have been unable to make any of them work as yet! I understand it is a great place to play and is high on my agenda to visit.

Craig Redston: Royal Cromer – Sadly never found the time
Andi White: Wentworth’s West – I have walked it now I want to play it.
Michael Verity: Of the top tier courses, I’m looking forward to returning to Royal Birkdale and Royal St George’s. Elsewhere, Kington and also the unheralded courses in the North East like Dunstanburgh Castle, Bamburgh Castle and Seaton Carew

Mike Robertson: West Hill. The only W I have yet to play. Or Hankley Common, which looks incredible.
Dove Jones: Cleeve Hill – well recommended by friends whose opinion I value
Chris Griffiths: Saunton, The Wisley, Rye. Three venues I have long wanted to visit. Each with brilliant but differing reputations.
Neil White: Kington – I have been told great things
Joss Powick: As some will know, I was blown away by Hillside. I understand Formby is very similar and some say it’s better!
