Mazagan: One of Morocco’s finest golf courses

But the exceptional golf course is one of the main attractions at Mazagan. The contemporary links layout was designed by Gary Player in 2009 and is one of the finest courses in Morocco.

The layout weaves in and out of the low-lying dunes that line the Atlantic coast, with the most spectacular holes running right alongside the ocean.

The course is long, at nearly 7,500 yards and is pristinely maintained. Practice facilities are also extensive, including a 30-bay driving range with Trackman technology, putting, chipping and pitching greens and a dedicated Golf Academy.

The prize post-round spot is a table at George Sports Bar for a sundowner overlooking the ocean and the breathtaking Moroccan sunset.

With 15 bars and restaurants, gourmets will be spoilt for choice. They range from casual to extravagant, with high-end steakhouses, easy-going poolside dining, beach barbecues and buffets dedicated to world cuisines, from vibrant modern Middle Eastern feasts and live music at Bushra by Buddha-Bar to fine seafood at Sel de Mer and a traditional Berber tent at Al Firma.

Rooms and suites are spacious and airy, with vistas of lush gardens, swimming pools and the immaculate golf course or the glittering ocean.

They are contemporary in style with subtle Moroccan influences in the design and architecture. Balconies or terraces offer the perfect spot to soak up the views.

With a flight time of just over three hours to Casablanca, Mazagan Beach & Golf Resort is ideal for either weekend escapes or longer stays and is a wonderful year-round destination.

Summers are perfect for swimming and family breaks, while milder temperatures and the cooling Atlantic breeze in Spring, Autumn and Winter are the ideal time for a golf break.
