Wesley Bryan isn’t the Callaway staff player we might have imagined would bag the next PGA Tour win with the Epic driver.
The social media trick shot star was deep in the chasing pack going into the final day at Harbour Town.
And if you’d have offered him a finishing score of -13 on Saturday night, I’m not sure he’d have thought it would be good enough to take the title.
But as overnight leaders Jason Dufner, Webb Simpson and Graeme DeLaet fell by the wayside, Bryan was able t sneak up the leaderboard and close out his first win.
England’s Luke Donald was his nearest challenger, finishing on -12, which meant a par on the final hole was needed to clinch the victory.
Bryan uses Callaway throughout the bag from the GBB Epic driver to the new Callaway Chrome Soft X ball.
It’s mostly new gear in the American’s bag but his bladed Odyssey putter is a couple of years old.
“Wow,” Bryan said in is post-round press conference.
“That’s about all I’ve got for you right now. Just an unbelievable experience to be able to win it out here in front of the home crowd on Easter. It was just – it’s unbelievable.”
