The US Open is such an exciting event. Golf fans can barely wait for the first tee time, nor the start of moving day on Saturday, and this will be no different at the 2026 US Open at Shinnecock Hills.

The third round is almost as good as the final round in many ways. There will be certain points where a player will feel like they’ve lost the tournament, but a good birdie or eagle might fill them with the belief they need to win it.

It is America’s national championship and one that every player, let alone Americans, want to win. If you have won the US Open, you know your game can stand up to stern tests.

Wyndham Clark holds a commanding lead at the top of the leaderboard on 7-under-par, four shots clear of Matt Fitzpatrick, Xander Schauffele, Sam Stevens and Tom Kim.
