Tommy Fleetwood was on hand to support the latest Underrated Golf European Tour event at The Belfry where his stepson, Murray Craig, secured a place in the season-ending Curry Cup.
Craig, one of England’s leading junior talents, claimed one of the coveted European qualifying spots for Stephen Curry’s flagship event. He emerged victorious in a play-off at the season-opening tournament which was staged on the covered Brabazon Course.
The Underrated Golf Tour, founded by NBA superstar Stephen Curry in 2022, aims to provide greater access and opportunities for junior golfers from underrepresented backgrounds. It’s open to golfers aged between 12-18 and looks to promote greater inclusivity, whilst closing the gender pay gap in golf.
Now into its third season, Curry’s vision for the tour is be a global platform that gives young golfers more visibility.
While American Andrew Rodriguez claimed the overall boys’ title and fellow Californian Isabella Fernandez won the girls’ competition, there was success for home players too.
Craig and England’s Jordan Ringer finished as the top two European boys. The latter finished three shots behind the leader with both earning their places in the Curry Cup.
The season-ender will be played at Bethpage Black, the stage of the 2025 Ryder Cup, from September 15-17.
In the girls’ competition, England’s Sommer Chan and Czech Republic player Shania Breinhoelder also qualified. The pair finished as the leading European players.
The Belfry provided a fitting stage for the event being regarded as one of European Golf’s most renowned venues. It’s a place that has hosted the Ryder Cup four times over the years and is the current home of the British Masters.
The event was supported by Fujikura, which is continuing its partnership with the UNDERRATED Golf Tour through 2026 and 2027.
The shaft manufacturer provided custom-fitting sessions for every competitor at The Belfry. In total 65 boys and girls received fittings and performance analysis throughout the week.

Each player will receive a Fujikura VENTUS shaft built to their specifications following the event. The idea is to give them access to equipment support typically reserved for elite-level golfers.
The tour now returns to the United States where it will host four more events before the season ender.
