Who are the greatest golfers of all time? National Club Golfer takes a look at some of greatest golfers that have played the game
Bobby Jones
Majors
US Open – 1923, 1926, 1929, 1930
The Open – 1926, 1927, 1930
Bobby Jones was one of the most influential figures in the history of the sport. Jones won a total of seven professional major titles throughout his illustrious career, including four US Opens and three Open Championships. He also won five US Amateur titles and one Amateur Championship title.
Jones won the US Open, The Open, US Amateur and the Amateur Championship in 1930. He won all of these titles while playing as an amateur and did not turn professional.
At the time, National Amateur Championships were counted as major titles and if they still were today Jones would have a total of 13 majors. His five US Amateur titles are still a record that stands today, the nearest are Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus who both won three respectively.

Seacroft in Lincolnshire is where it starts and ends.
