Pebble Beach Pro-Am report: So what happened?
Phil Mickelson and Paul Casey were on the 16th green on Sunday night, the American leading his English counterpart by three, when they were told they were going to hauled off for failing light.

But he came back on Monday to finish the job and claim his 44th PGA Tour title and 50th professional win overall.
Both Mickelson and Casey birdied 18, which meant started and ended Monday’s catch-up with a three-shot lead. The gain on the last meant Casey finished solo 2nd, one clear of Scott Stallings.

While frustrated at the time, Mickelson will perhaps look at the plight of Scott Piercy and realise he made the right decision.
Piercy was tied-7th at 11-under with a 15-footer for birdie at the par-5 18th.
Deciding to finish in darkness instead of come back on Monday morning, Piercy three-putted for bogey to drop to a tie for 10th alongside Max Homa, Michael Thompson and Chris Stroud.
The bogey was particularly pertinent for Web.com graduates Homa and Thompson, who earn a spot at this week’s Genesis Open as a result of that top 10.
