Oh, Tommy! Fleetwood drowns at 18 as Im takes maiden title

Sungjae Im's PGA Tour patience has finally paid off as he claimed his first win at in his second season on tour

Honda Classic report: What happened at PGA National?

Sungjae Im became the youngest ever winner of the Honda Classic as he got the better of PGA National’s Bear Trap and a strong PGA Tour field.

The 2019 PGA Tour Rookie of the Year, making his 76th worldwide start since the beginning of 2018, carded a final-round 66 to finish one shot ahead of playing partner Mackenzie Hughes on 6-under.

Four birdies in his first five holes had Im right in contention but England’s Tommy Fleetwood remained the favourite to get the job done before having some trouble with his swing as his round continued.

After back-to-back bogeys at 12 and 13, Im looked under pressure and a clutch par at the 14th settled him just in time for the Bear Trap. Incredibly he made birdie 2s at the 15th and 17th before grinding his way to a closing par after fatting his third into sand.

Fleetwood, who is still looking to add a PGA Tour win to his host of European Tour victories, got off to a birdie-birdie start but experienced a quiet stretch throughout the middle of his round before making a crucial birdie at the 17th to give himself a shot at a play-off if he could birdie the last.

A huge tee shot left him with a 5-wood into the green but that approach found the water and with that his chances of a play-off all but disappeared.

Lee Westwood enjoyed yet another good week as he battled his way into a share of 4th as he returned to the Honda Classic for the first time since 2015.

Honda Classic report: Talking points

Paul Azinger sent Golf Twitter into a frenzy thanks to comments he made about the European Tour in the broadcast of the final round of the Honda Classic.

The American’s comments have sparked debate – Mark Townsend has the full story.

Luke Donald got a rather bizarre introduction onto the 1st tee at the beginning of his third round. And when we say bizarre, we mean completely wrong.

The announcer made not one, not two but three big errors as he stumbled his way through his introduction. Check out what happened here.

Brendan Steele was in contention from start to finish at PGA National and there was one moment that really stuck out in his week.

This came on the second day when he headed into the infamous Bear Trap – 15th 16th and 17th holes. At the par-3 15th, the American came as close as you ever could to scoring a hole-in-one without actually holing it.

Here’s what happened.
