The DP World Tour returns to action this week in Scotland
The DP World Tour returns to action following the thrilling Ryder Cup in Rome and a number of key players, and celebrities, have arrived for one of the tour’s flagship events, the 2023 Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
Where is the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship played?
The Alfred Dunhill Links Championship is played in Fife, Scotland across three of golf’s most famous courses, the Old Course at St Andrews, Carnoustie Golf Links, and Kingsbarns Golf Links.
How does the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship work?
There are two sides to the Alfred Dunhill Links – the individual professional tournament and a Team Championship where each of the 168 players in the field is paired with an amateur, usually a celebrity or family member.
Players will play a round at each course between Thursday and Saturday before the final round is played at the Home of Golf.
To determine which players make it to the final round on Sunday, there is a cut for the professional tournament, which is the top 60 and ties. The leading 20 teams in the Team Championship will also participate on the final day of play.
Who is in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship field 2023?
A number of Team Europe’s Ryder Cup heroes are set to tee it up at this week’s tournament with Matt Fitzpatrick, Tommy Fleetwood and Bob MacIntyre making the trip over from Rome.
Other notable players in the field include defending champion Ryan Fox, who also won this year’s BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth, and seven-time PGA Tour winner Billy Horschel.
Controversially, a number of LIV golfers will be making the trip to Scotland with Talor Gooch, Louis Oosthuizen, Peter Uihlein and Hudson Swafford all receiving a sponsor’s invite for the tournament.
Celebrities playing in the Team Championship include Gareth Bale, Piers Morgan, Kevin Pietersen, Stuart Broad, plus a host of other big names.

Another club that has stood the test of time in his bag is a Nike Method Core MC-3i putter which has had to have the SuperStroke grip changed at least three times. Ball of choice is the Titleist ProV1.
