Patrick Cantlay’s victory at Murifield Village was the biggest payday of his career to date as he took home a $1.638 million share of the 2019 Memorial Tournament prize money.
Adam Scott, who finished second, pocketed almost $1 million for his efforts during the week and Martin Kaymer who was a surprise player this week was paid out around $620,000.
Players who made the cut earned a minimum of $17,500 and players who made it into the top 10 pocketed a healthy sum that was over $235,000.
The Memorial Tournament is one of the most prestigious events on the PGA Tour as it is one of few tournaments which is invite only and is run by one of the greatest golfers of all time, Jack Nicklaus.
The other five tournaments to have invitational status are the Masters, Geneis Open (from 2020), Arnold Palmer Invitational, RBC Heritage and the Charles Schwab Challenge.
