The third round of the Players Championship is one of the most exciting moving days in the game.

Outside of the majors, the Players Championship stands out as a top event and therefore, the third round on Saturday on the Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass can see much happen as players jostle for position.

In 2025, Akshay Bhatia and Min Woo Lee shared the lead after 36 holes on 11-under-par. Both players shot 67 in round one and 66 in round two to lead J.J. Spaun by one shot and Collin Morikawa and Rory McIlroy by two shots.

There were a host of players lurking near the top of the leaderboard too including Will Zalatoris, Tommy Fleetwood, Scottie Scheffler and Patrick Cantlay.

The third round of the Players Championship, and the third round of a lot of tournaments, will go off later than the other three rounds of the week. In 2024, Xander Schauffele and Wyndham Clark went off at 2.40 pm local time at PGA Tour HQ, which is more than likely down to suiting television schedules in America.

This doesn’t force a finish in the dark, or it shouldn’t anyway, but it does add a little more drama when the leaders are finishing out tiredly when the sun is slowly creeping behind the clouds. Mistakes can be made late on in a third round, like when Clark found the water on the par-3 17th last year.

Below are the third round tee times for the 2025 Players Championship.

What do you make of the Players Championship round 3 tee times? Should they be made earlier to avoid players not finishing their rounds? Should there be fewer players on the course in general? Does a two-tee start help? Tell us on X!
