A huge fire broke out at Marco Simone Golf and Country Club just days after it hosted the Ryder Cup.
Images and videos emerged on social media on Thursday afternoon of the blaze with a large black cloud rising from the site.
Pictures show the fire started near the clubhouse where hundreds of fans stood to watch Europe face America last week in Rome.
Emergency fire services were called just before 5.10 pm local time.
The Ryder Cup Europe has since released a statement saying nobody was injured:
“A fire was reported in one of the temporary hospitality structures to the right of the first fairway at Marco Simone Golf and Country Club.
“Local fire crews were called to the scene at 17.07 pm local time and quickly brought the blaze under control.
“Nobody was injured in the incident and the fire did not spread beyond the hospitality structure.
“There was no damage to the golf course or any other structure. The cause of the fire is currently being investigated.”
It isn’t yet known how the fire started. James Fraser posted these images and videos to X.
