  • Rachel rohanna: baby change required on devilish par 3

Rachel Rohanna’s eight-month-old child decided to – yes you know what I mean – while her mum was playing in the US Women’s Open.

During a hold-up in play on the par-3 12th on Thursday, Rohanna caught up with her husband Ethan who was with their daughter Greenlee who couldn’t wait for the toilet any longer.

“There was a back-up with the playing and then there was the opposite of a back-up in the stroller,” she said after the first round.

“There was I think four groups or something on the tee box. I was talking to my husband and looked down and happened to see that my youngest went to the bathroom all over the place.”

“I was like, Ethan, so I brought them inside the ropes and we went into a roped-off area and changed her. It was a two-man effort to get that taken care of,” she added.

Rachel Rohanna: Baby change required on devilish par 3

At least Rohanna could briefly forget the prospect of playing the 12th hole and tend to Greenlee. This devilish par 3 caused carnage on day one at Lancaster Country Club. She made a par, seven shots less than the tally World No.1 Nelly Korda racked up.

“At first I was like, I’m not sure he can come in the ropes. Oh, whatever. Nobody is going to say anything. It’s just me and him. So I was like – he had to come in because it was definitely a two-man effort – it was everywhere.”

As well as Greenlee, Rohanna and her husband have another six-year-old daughter named Gemelia. There were no toilet-related issues to speak of with her.

Rohanna is making her fourth US Women’s Open appearance this week and her first since 2019. She secured a spot in Pennsylvania at Shannopin Country Club in Pittsburgh on May 7 but carded a 76 in round one.

She is a two-time Epson Tour winner, a developmental tour that feeds the LPGA Tour. Rohnana also used to be an assistant women’s golf coach at Waynesburg University.
