Tommy Fleetwood was born in Merseyside, England in 1991, and has gone on to become one of the most recognisable faces in world golf, thanks to his long hair and his sawn-off swing.
After reaching the top three in the World Amateur Golf Rankings, Fleetwood turned professional in 2010, and made the cut at the Czech Open, his first appearance on the DP World Tour. Fleetwood’s first win on the Tour came six years later at the Johnnie Walker Classic at Gleneagles.
He has gone on to win eight times on the DP World Tour, including back-to-back wins at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship. He has two Rolex Series wins to his name, and won the season-long Race to Dubai in 2017.
Fleetwood has six top-five finishes in major tournaments, including runner-up finishes at the US Open in 2018, and the Open Championship in 2019, where he lost out to home favourite Shane Lowry at Royal Portrush. He finally grabbed his first win on the PGA Tour at the end of the 2025 season, as he claimed the season-ending Tour Championship to win the FedEx Cup.
On the team stage, Fleetwood made history at the Ryder Cup in Paris in 2018. Alongside Italy’s Francesco Molinari, the pair won all four of their matches, becoming the first European pairing to do so in the tournament’s history. He has gone on to play in four Ryder Cups, including Europe’s triumph at Bethpage Black in 2025, where he won all four of his pairs matches for the second time in his career.
