Thriston Lawrence is one of the leading South Africans on the DP World Tour, with four wins to his name.

Lawrence was born in Nelspruit in South Africa in December 1996, and he continues to live there to this day. He began playing golf at a young age, and would turn professional shortly before his 18th birthday. After success on mini tours – including the MENA Golf Tour and the IGT Pro Tour, the South African secured his first win on the Sunshine Tour in 2019.

That came at the Vodacom Origins of Golf at Stellenbosch, and he has gone on to win three times on home soil, with the other two events being on the DP World Tour. In total, he has five DPWT wins, with his most recent victory being his second at the Omega European Masters in Switzerland – that win coming in August 2025.

Although Lawrence’s major record is not the best, the big South African played his way into the final group of the 152nd Open Championship at Royal Troon thanks to a third round 65. He would finish in 4th, three shots behind the eventual winner, and notching his best major finish to date.
