Miguel Angel Jimenez is a stalwart of European golf, with Ryder Cup wins and two senior major titles to his name.

Born in January 1964 in Malaga, Spain, Jimenez has gone on to become one of the biggest characters in the sport. The cigar-smoking, putter-wielding Spaniard has won over fans from all around the world, and he also has wins all over the world, winning on the DP World Tour, Asian Tour and more recently, becoming a regular victor on the PGA Tour Champions.

He started his career on the then-European Tour in the late 1980s, and went on to win 20 times on the tour over the next three decades. His victories included the tour’s flagship event, the BMA PGA Championship, along with the season ending Volvo Masters, and four wins at the Omega Hong Kong Open. His last DP World Tour win came at the Open de Espana in 2014, as he won his national title for the first time at the 27th attempt.

After turning 50, Jimenez has become a regular on the PGA Tour Champions. He has won 17 times on the tour, including winning two senior majors. He was victorious at the Regions Tradition and the Senior Open Championship in 2018, winning the latter on the Old Course at St Andrews. He then claimed his third senior major title at the Kaulig Companies Championship, winning a playoff against Steven Alker in 2025.

On the international stage, The Spaniard has represented his country in both the World Cup and the Alfred Dunhill Cup, winning the latter in both 1999 and 2000. Jimenez also represented Europe in the Seven Trophy on eight occasions, along with playing in four European Ryder Cup teams. He was on the winning side in both 2004 and 2010.
