Alex Noren is one of Sweden’s and the DP World Tour’s most successful players, with 11 wins on the tour over a two-decade career.
Born in July 1982 in the Swedish capital of Stockholm, Noren started playing the game at the age of 4, before taking it up more seriously at the start of his teenage years. He would go on to have amateur success, and spend four years playing at Oklahoma State University before graduating and turning professional in 2005.
The Swede then spent just a single year on the Challenge Tour, taking his first professional victory on the tour in 2006 – at the Rolex Trophy. He then made the jump to the European Tour (now DP World Tour) and has gone on to win 12 times over a 16-year career. The first win came at the Omega European Masters, and he has gone on to win both the Betfred British Masters and the tour’s flagship event – the BMW PGA Championship – on two occasions, taking victory at both for the second time in a three-week spell in 2025.
Noren has also represented Sweden at the World Cup of Golf, and Team Europe in the Royal Trophy, Seven Trophy and the Ryder Cup. At the latter, in 2018 at Le Golf National in Paris, Noren helped Europe to a 17.5-10.5 win, including a dramatic 1up victory in the final singles’ match on the Sunday.
