Robert MacIntyre takes no prisoners with hilarious caddie bib…
Robert MacIntyre and his caddie Mike Burrows went on the offensive at the Valspar Championship with the Ryder Cup still at the front of their minds…
Robert MacIntyre and his caddie went on a mission to rattle the cage of American Ryder Cup fans at the Valspar Championship.
During the first round at the Copperhead course at Innisbrook, MacIntyre’s looper Mike Burrows donned a provocative caddie bib featuring the scoreline from the 2023 Ryder Cup.
‘16.5-11.5’ was written on his luminous top on Thursday, an idea that MacIntyre teased in a post on X (formerly Twitter) before the tournament started.
“What’s going on the bib this week?? First thought Eur 16.5-11.5 USA,” the Scotsman wrote in a caption with the picture of the caddie bib form.
The MacIntyre caddy bib gag has raised some eyebrows…
MacIntyre is evidently still buzzing after making his European Ryder Cup debut at Marco Simone Golf and Country Club in Rome at the end of last year.
He earned two and a half points across the week, going unbeaten alongside Englishman Justin Rose in both fourball sessions.
After Europe had secured the cup via a Tommy Fleetwood victory against Rickie Fowler in the Sunday singles, MacIntyre went on to beat US Open champion Wyndham Clark to cap off what was a fine week for the 27-year-old.
“It’s incredible,” MacIntyre said after the three-day tournament against the United States. “This is what I dreamed of as a kid. I thankfully got a team that was absolutely deadly.
“Some of the boys on that team are the best in the world for a reason and are going to go down in the books as some of the best ever. I’m just glad I’m on that team and so proud.”
MacIntyre will no doubt be keen to forge a path of his own on the PGA Tour to ensure he represents Europe at Bethpage in 2025.
