The winner of the Tour Championship also won the FedEx Cup. And it was Scottie Scheffler.

He finished on 30-under-par and won by four shots from Collin Morikawa. The World No.1 secured his seventh tour title of the season which ended in the perfect way.

Since 2019, the top 30 players that have made the season finale at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia begin in a staggered format based on their form this season.

Scottie Scheffler was top of the FedEx Cup rankings heading into the season finale so he began on 10-under-par. The rest of the field then began on descending scores. You can read more about the format here.

Scheffler, who also won the Masters and the Olympic Gold Medal this year, earned a staggering $25 million, the same amount of money that is an offer for the entire field at a single LIV Golf event.

It is the presence of the LIV Golf League that is likely responsible for the inflated prize money which was pocketed by Viktor Hovland in 2023, but stood at $18 million instead.

The total FedEx Cup bonus pool stands at $100 million and the breakdown for the Tour Championship is stated below:
