The final round of the PGA Championship is always an exciting day in golf, just like every final day of a major championship.
In 2024, Xander Schauffele finally dispelled any myths that he couldn’t close big tournaments and became a major champion. He overcame Viktor Hovland and Bryson DeChambeau in a memorable edition of the tournament at Valhalla Golf Club in Kentucky.
It is the second major championship of the year. It is now played in May when it used to be in August and carry the name of ‘Glory’s Last Shot’. It also contains a very large field of stars from the PGA Tour, the DP World Tour, the LIV Golf League and also the very best PGA Professionals in the United States.
The final round of a major tournament is absolutely crucial, to state the completely obvious. If you can’t follow up on your first three days of work to put yourself near the top of the leaderboard, you are immediately on the back foot and have too much ground to make up. It isn’t impossible to come from behind to win this event, as we saw with Justin Thomas defying a seven-shot gap in the final round in 2022, but day three is crucial.
Below are the times for the final round of the 2025 PGA Championship, where Scottie Scheffler has a three-shot lead at Quail Hollow Golf Club in Charlotte, North Carolina.
