Tiger Woods will play in this year’s Hero World Challenge.

The 47-year-old will make his first competitive appearance since withdrawing from the Masters.

Woods had surgery after leaving Augusta in April which ruled him out for the rest of the season.

Speculation surrounded the 15-time major champion’s return to action when he was seen caddying for his son Charlie earlier this month.

Golf fans could’ve expected his return to be TGL Golf’s start date of January 9, but he will compete in this 20-man event beginning on November 30.

His spot was announced by TGR Live along with Justin Rose and Lucas Glover who have replaced Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele.

Woods hosts the tournament held in the Bahamas which has been won by Viktor Hovland in the last two years.

He withdrew from the Hero World Challenge during this month in 2022 while suffering from plantar fasciitis but went on to play with Charlie at the PNC Championship.

The field at Albany Golf Course includes six of the top 10 players in the world and, while there are no FedEx Cup points up for grabs, there are world ranking points available.

This Tiger Woods comeback date will no doubt increase excitement for a potential return to the Masters in 2024.

The Genesis Invitational was the only other event he played in 2023 where he came tied for 45th.
