Joe Biden pokes fun at Donald Trump after former President’s golf boast
After an excited Donald Trump posted about winning the Club Championship at his course in West Palm Beach, Joe Biden weighed in with a response…
US President Joe Biden took a poke at Donald Trump after the former President posted online about his recent golfing exploits.
Trump, who held office from 2017 to 2021, announced on Truth Social that he won two trophies at an awards ceremony at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach.
The X account ‘Donald J. Trump Posts From His Truth Social‘ then shared this post to the platform formerly known as Twitter which read:
“It is my great honour to be at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach tonight, AWARDS NIGHT, to receive THE CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHY & THE SENIOR CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHY. I WON BOTH!
“A large and golfing talented membership, a GREAT and difficult course, made the play very exciting. The qualifying and match play was amazing. A large and distinguished group will be there tonight. Very exciting, thank you!!! Donald Trump Truth Social 05:28 PM EST 3/24/24.”
Biden and Trump are set to tussle over the keys to the Oval Office again in November as they did in 2020 and after seeing this post, Biden’s X account screenshotted it and replied with a rather sarcastic remark:
“Congratulations Donald. Quite the accomplishment.”
A Donald Trump golf post for the ages!
It is the first time since 1956 that the same two candidates will face each other in consecutive elections.
The course in West Palm Beach is one of many that spans the Trump Golf portfolio which includes golf courses in the UK, Ireland, America, Dubai, Oman and Indonesia.
Trump, 77 and reportedly a three-handicapper, is no stranger to making headlines through his involvement in golf.
Back in 2022, the businessman-turned-politician said that The Open “wants to come back to Trump Turnberry” despite the R&A previously stating it won’t be back to the famous Scottish venue for the foreseeable future.
