The winner won nothing! Here’s The American Express prize money

How much does each PGA Tour star take home from La Quinta

 

Let us break down the prize money for The American Express.

It’s the tournament that Jon Rahm won during his rampant run at the start of the 2023 PGA Tour season.

He battled with Davis Thompson and beat the American by a shot in La Quinta 12 months ago. He had already won the Sentry Tournament of Champions and went on to win the Genesis Invitational and the Masters.

But of course, the Spaniard is in pastures new with LIV Golf and has been suspended by the US circuit.

The 2024 edition of the event was even more memorable. 20-year-old amateur Nick Dunlap secured a historic win on the PGA Tour, becoming the first amateur to win on the circuit since 1991.

Dunlap carded a final-round 70 to edge Christiaan Bezuidenhout by one shot, as he also battled with Sam Burns and Justin Thomas down the stretch in the California sun.
