The former US Open champion went on the hunt for a new caddie in 2025 after parting ways with Billy Foster

Former US Open champion Matt Fitzpatrick began working full-time with caddie Daniel Parratt in 2025.

Parratt had been brought on to the team temporarily to share duties when Fitzpatrick’s long‐time caddie Billy Foster began to scale back his work.

Parratt, from Bristol in England, has been a professional caddie for many years and has worked with several top players on the PGA Tour and DP World Tour, including Tom Kim, Byeong Hun An, K.H. Lee, Calum Hill, Thorbjorn Olesen, Robert Karlsson and Alex Noren.

He is massively experienced, and the names on his CV make him a worthy replacement who caddied for Fitzpatrick throughout the major season and at the 2025 Ryder Cup, which Europe won.

Parratt caddied for Ben An at the 2019 Presidents Cup, which was won by the USA, a team captained by Tiger Woods. Parratt and his wife Gemma have two boys called Brooks and Casey, born two years apart in 2016 and 2018.

Since 2018, Fitzpatrick had worked with the legendary Foster. Foster has been there and done it when it comes to caddying. He has worked for Tiger Woods, Lee Westwood, Thomas Bjorn, Darren Clarke and Sergio Garcia, but he most famously carried for Seve Ballesteros.

He won many tournaments in his time as a looper before joining Fitzpatrick, but hadn’t won a major, despite the big names listed above. He finally got his crowning moment, as did Fitzpatrick, at Brookline in 2022 when he won the US Open.

When Will Zalatoris missed his birdie putt on the 72nd hole in Boston, Foster pulled his cap over his face to cover his tears, as he seemingly achieved a lifelong ambition of winning a major title.

“Well, after six great years, all good things come to an end,” said Foster on social media in 2025. “This game never stops to frustrate you and infuriate you! Unfortunately, times change, and ultimately it is the caddie or the coach that has to accept results are not good enough, and when you stop enjoying what you are doing, it is time for a change. Thanks Matt, we had a great run and who knows where the next chapter will go. Onwards and upwards.”

The pair also won the RBC Heritage on the PGA Tour and the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in Scotland on the DP World Tour.

Since splitting with Fitzpatrick, Foster has caddied briefly for two-time major champion Collin Morikawa and his old friend Westwood in the LIV Golf League.
