Tyrrell Hatton has had several different caddies in his career, so who caddies for the Englishman now?

Tyrrell Hatton is one of golf’s great characters. Whether you like his fiery, tantrum-filled behaviour or not, there is never a dull moment watching him play golf.

Not only is he a huge personality, but Hatton is also one of the world’s best players and one of Europe’s standout performers of the last eight years. He has won seven times on the DP World Tour and once on the PGA Tour.

He has won the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship three times at the home of golf in St Andrews, but arguably the crowning moment of his career so far was winning the Arnold Palmer Invitational in 2020, one of the most prestigious non-major events in the game.

At the start of the 2024 season, he joined the Saudi-funded LIV Golf League with his European Ryder Cup teammate Jon Rahm, creating a huge story and adding firepower to the breakaway circuit’s roster.

Some golfers like to chop and change their caddies and some like to keep the same looper for several years. Hatton falls in the former camp, but only through circumstance as he did have a consistent sidekick in the experienced Mick Donaghy for some time.

Unfortunately, Donaghy had a fall before the 2024 Masters which ruled him out of caddying at Augusta National. Donaghy has been caddying for three decades and almost won the 1994 Open with Jesper Parnevik.

Tyrrell Hatton: New caddie Hugo Dobson

This somewhat opened the door for Hugo Dobson to enter the fray and it seems Hatton’s childhood friend has been by his side for the majority of the time since. He also caddied for Hatton at the 2019 Masters.

They worked together to win the LIV Golf Nashville event in June 2024, which he won by six shots from his compatriot Sam Horsfield, and then Hatton completed the Dunhill hat trick in October. Dobson is a former professional and has known Hatton since the age of 14.

“We’ve grown up through our last years of junior golf together,” Hatton once said. “First few years of men’s golf then turning pro at a similar time. He knows what I’m like on and off the golf course. Since he came in last second at the Masters and started caddying we’ve done really well together. It’s been fun having one of your best mates on the bag and travelling around the world.”

“I’m sure he just turns deaf for a minute or two,” Hatton added when asked how Hugo responds to his angry antics on the golf course. “He’s known me for a long time. He knows when to stay away from me or act like he can’t hear anything!”

Hatton has previously worked with Mark Crane and Johnathan Bell too, but Dobson appears to have secured a permanent spot on the Englishman’s bag, despite his manager Danny Wardrop also being called up to caddie for him at the 2024 Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship.

The pair almost won a major together in 2025. Hatton was in contention in the business end of the US Open at Oakmont, when the rain poured and the course became virtually waterlogged. A bad break on the short par 4 17th hole meant he made a bogey. He fell out of contention, and J.J. Spaun went on to win the championship.

Hatton also played in another Ryder Cup in 2025 with Dobson on the bag. In both he and Jon Rahm’s fourth consecutive start for Team Europe, the pair formed a great partnership again, notably taking down Bryson DeChambeau and Justin Thomas in the first match of the event.

Hatton also clinched the half point in the tense Sunday singles session against Collin Morikawa to take Europe’s total to 14.5 points, which meant they won the cup outright away from home for the first time since 2012.
