LIV Golf is in Virginia in the week before the US Open in 2025.

The event will be held at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club, which has staged four Presidents Cup, the Tiger Woods Quicken Loans National in 2015 and the Solheim Cup in 2024.

The club was established in 1991 and was designed by Robert Trent Jones. It is located 30 miles from downtown Washington DC and the course is on Lake Manassas which is an 850-acre reservoir.

Robert Trent Jones Golf Club will host the eighth event of the LIV Golf season, the one before the US Open. As per usual, in each LIV Golf event, the stars will be out and it is the same roster of stars playing each week, including Jon Rahm, Bryson DeChambeau, Brooks Koepka, Dustin Johnson, Phil Mickelson, Patrick Reed, Cameron Smith, Tyrrell Hatton, Joaquin Niemann and Sergio Garcia.

Frequently Asked Questions about LIV Golf Virginia

When and where will LIV Golf Virginia take place?

LIV Golf Virginia 2025 will take place from June 6-8. It will be held at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club.

What does LIV Golf stand for?

LIV is the Roman numeral for 54 which is the number of holes played at each LIV Golf event. For 99% of golf tournaments, it is 72 holes.

How does LIV Golf work?

There are 13 regular LIV Golf events in the 2025 season with a team championship finale at the end in Michigan. At each event, there is an individual competition and a team competition.

The top 24 golfers on the 54-man leaderboards will score points. The top eight teams on the 13-team leaderboard score points. To no one’s surprise, the player with the lowest stroke play score after 54 holes wins the event.

In the team format, all players’ scores in each four-man team count for all three days of the event. Before 2025, only the top three scores from each team counted for the first two days, and all four counted for the final round.

Who owns LIV Golf?

The Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia, a sovereign wealth fund that is racing towards a trillion dollars in worth, is the primary investor of LIV Golf.

These riches would explain why the top stars have received huge sign-up fees, north of $100,000,000 in some cases, and why this start-up tour has made such a splash in the professional game.

How to watch LIV Golf on TV?

In the UK, the LIV Golf website says you can watch the action at each event on the LIV Golf+ App and now, you can watch the action for free on ITVX, the on-demand platform for ITV. In the United States, you can now watch LIV Golf across all Fox Sports channels.
