LIV Golf makes its return to Europe with its event in Andalucia in the week before the best players in the world head to The Open Championship at Royal Portrush.

The LIV Golf League visited Andalucia for the first time in 2023, and the 54-man, 54-hole tour will return for its first European escapade of the 2025 season.

This will be the 10th event of the campaign, with tournaments still to come at JCB in the United Kingdom, Chicago, Indianapolis, and Michigan.

Talor Gooch was the winner in 2023, and it was one of three victories for the American in the LIV Golf League on his way to winning the Individual Championship in that year.

In 2024, Sergio Garcia won on home turf by beating Anirban Lahiri in a playoff.

LIV Golf visit the famous Real Club Valderrama for this event. The Spanish venue was the host of the 1997 Ryder Cup, the first edition of the tournament to be held in continental Europe.

Valderrama has been the host of several other big tournaments, including the Andalucia Masters and the Open de Espana on the DP World Tour. Garcia, Ian Poulter, John Catlin and Adrian Meronk have all been victorious at the venue in the past.

As per usual, in each LIV Golf event, the stars will be out, and it is the same roster of stars playing each week, including Jon Rahm, Bryson DeChambeau, Brooks Koepka, Dustin Johnson, Phil Mickelson, Patrick Reed, Cameron Smith, Tyrrell Hatton, and Joaquin Niemann.

LIV Golf Andalucia Preview

When and where will LIV Golf Dallas take place?

LIV Golf Andalucia 2025 will take place from July 11-13. It will be held at Valderrama.

What does LIV Golf stand for?

LIV is the Roman numeral for 54 which is the number of holes played at each LIV Golf event. For 99% of golf tournaments, it is 72 holes.

How does LIV Golf work?

There are 13 regular LIV Golf events in the 2025 season with a team championship finale at the end in Michigan. At each event, there is an individual competition and a team competition.

The top 24 golfers on the 54-man leaderboards will score points. The top eight teams on the 13-team leaderboard score points. To no one’s surprise, the player with the lowest stroke play score after 54 holes wins the event.

In the team format, all players’ scores in each four-man team count for all three days of the event. Before 2025, only the top three scores from each team counted for the first two days, and all four counted for the final round.

Who owns LIV Golf?

The Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia, a sovereign wealth fund that is racing towards a trillion dollars in worth, is the primary investor of LIV Golf.

These riches would explain why the top stars have received huge sign-up fees, north of $100,000,000 in some cases, and why this start-up tour has made such a splash in the professional game.

How to watch LIV Golf on TV?

In the UK, the LIV Golf website says you can watch the action at each event on the LIV Golf+ App and now, you can watch the action for free on ITVX, the on-demand platform for ITV. In the United States, you can now watch LIV Golf across all Fox Sports channels.
