‘End of an era!’ Faldo breaks down after emotional farewell
Nick Faldo warned things would get emotional, and boy wasn’t he wrong as the legend broke down in tears after bidding farewell to his 18 year broadcast career.
The six-time major winner served as a key voice for CBS for nearly two decades, but announced in June he would be hanging up the headset after the Wyndham Championship to focus on other endeavours.
When the time then came for Faldo to sign off for one last time following the conclusion of the tournament, things got too much for the Englishman as he burst into tears with the tributes pouring in.
“I’m a single child and I’ve found, at 65, three brothers. Thank you,” Faldo blubbed when describing colleagues Jim Nantz, Frank Nobilo and Ian Baker-Finch…
Leaving behind barely a dry eye in the studio, Faldo now moves on to spend his well-earned retirement in Montana, where he and wife Lindsay will renovate a farm.
