A lot of golfers will be pleased that Adidas have put fresh life into the Adizero range. These definitely lived up to their famed reputation. They offered supreme comfort in a stylish yet understated design.
I experienced no problem with the traction. The spikeless sole worked well to keep me upright on the wet turf. Additionally, the waterproofing was without fault.
Something to note is that I found the golf shoes to be a little narrow. It may be worth your while to size up a half size as a precaution.
PROS
Look great out the box and on the feet
Extremely lightweight
Waterproofing works well
CONS
They were a touch tight so possibly worth thinking about sizing up
Adidas Adizero ZG Golf Shoes Review: First Impressions
I have tested and worn a fair few pairs of Adidas golf shoes now. Whenever I get my hands on a pair of Adidas golf shoes I never seen to be disappointed by what I discover.
Straight out of the box these Adizero ZG golf shoes certainly hold their weight against other golf shoes in terms of looks. I love the way these look, they have undergone a bit of a makeover from that of the last Adidas Adizero golf shoes but I’m all for it.
They hold a subtle styling but remaining a part of those sporty golf shoes which has always been my go to. I tested the all-colour white look and these were a delight. Still retained a professional, sleek and clean look that I think all golfers find desirable in their apparel whilst not being overly flashy.
NCG Verdict
From the moment I took them out the box and then put on my feet I could feel just how light they were. They are designed to be an extremely lightweight option and these shoes certainly deliver on that front – definitely one of the lightest golf shoe I have worn.
Despite how lightweight Adidas have manufactured them to be they have still included plenty of tech. An ultralight Lightstrike Pro cushioning is utilised to help deliver a dynamic stability system for greater confidence navigating the golf course.
This technological advancement worked well for me out on the course and with the rubbish winter whether we have had in the UK over recent weeks they were put to the test. They dealt with the wet and muddy ground conditions well.

Some golfers may still have reservations over wearing spikeless golf shoes during the winter months. Whilst I do share these slight concerns, and depending on the severity of the weather conditions, the technology is so advanced now that it doesn’t make too much of a difference.
The Spikemore sole provides fantastic grip as well as a unique look. New undercut lugs have been positioned along the edges of the sole to be able to adapt to different lies and terrains.
This extra bit of stability was a great addition when swinging the golf club. Having another layer of protection from slipping over is a real confidence booster and allows you to focus on your game rather than worrying about losing your balance mid swing.
Despite the typical English winter ground conditions the waterproofing remained impenetrable. The brand has included a waterproof Sprintskin synthetic upper for added protection from the longer grass we golfers try so hard to avoid.
One thing to note about these shoes is that they may feel a bit snug at first, particularly in the width. When I first put them on, I found the UK size 11s to be a tad narrower than I expected. However, after wearing them for a few rounds, they did seem to mold to my feet somewhat. If you’re concerned about fit, you might consider sizing up to ensure a comfortable feel.
Adidas have a strong legacy within golf with plenty of tour professionals wearing the brand’s clothing and shoes every week. Expect to see these on your screens this season as I can certainly see a number of the best players in the world shifting to the Adizero ZG golf shoes this season – if I was to to be on Adizero ZG golf shoe watch my best bet would be to see if Ludwig Aberg or Collin Morikawa make the switch.
