Collecting statistics on your game is one of the easiest ways to know how to improve your golf. Yet how many of us don’t bother? Shot Scope’s automatic shot tracking makes performance tracking easy, and it’s just had an upgrade for 2022…
Shot Scope app course analysis tool
Shot Scope are constantly upgrading their app to give users more detailed data on their game.
The latest update looks set to be a big hit with club golfers as it allows you to deep dive into your home course analytics and see exactly where you are losing and gaining shots on the field.
Golfers can now see individual course and hole data wherever you play your golf, and if you track multiple rounds at your home course it will be really easy to see which areas you can improve your scoring in.
Essentially you are getting a bespoke game plan for your home course – that could definitely come in handy in the weekly medal!

You can see your individual strokes gained analytics for each hole on the course. This allows you to see if you are gaining or losing strokes relative to players with a similar handicap.
You can also separate out your shots and see where you can improve. For example should you be using a driver instead of a 3-wood off the tee? You can even see if you score better when you miss in the left or right rough which can help you pick better targets next time you play.
You will be able to see heat maps of the most common places people end up on each hole, as well as seeing up and down statistics from different areas, and the average score with different clubs off the tee.

You can also share this information with your coach to give them a more detailed view of how you are performing out on the course and what shots are affecting your scores the most. This can help structure what you work on in lessons, as well as helping you plan out your course strategy before a competition.
Including strokes gained analysis on every shot really is giving your tour-level performance data. What’s great is this is available to every Shot Scope user with the mobile app for no extra charge.
