The equipment news is coming thick and fast so here’s another edition of All the Gear including some new Puma golf shoes, and a swanky upgrade to SkyCaddie’s range…
Puma reinvent trainer-style golf shoes
I’m super excited about the Puma RS-Gs, not just because they look great and revolutionise trainer-style golf shoes, but because they are available for both men and women.
From the streets to the course. Built for golf, made for life. The RS-G is here 🔥#RSG LIVETHESPORT pic.twitter.com/aT4g5YgeBL

Who remembers the Puma RS trainers from the ’80s? Well, not me, I was born in 1995, but I do remember the stunning RS-X reboot from a couple of years ago and now they’ve got a golf update. The RS-Gs feature the same, bold, chunky silhouette as the RS-X but come packed with extra technology to adapt for the course.
The upper is seam-sealed and completely waterproof, with microfiber leather and TPU skin that will keep your feet dry all day long.
The outsole has also been reworked to give you better grip with pronounced carbon rubber lugs strategically placed to give you that all important traction. While a performance fusion foam midsole gives you plenty of comfort.
And at £90, you’re not paying any more than you would for premium trainers.
Keep your eyes out for a full review when we get our hands on some samples. For now you can read what my colleague and self-confessed sneaker freak Alex Perry has to say about them.
As for me, I’ll be swooning over the ladies’ offering.

A touch of class from SkyCaddie
The new SkyCaddie LX5 GPS Smart Watch brings you the tech of the SX500 and SX400 straight to your wrist.
It is driven by a powerful multicore processor to give you a simple-to-use touchscreen interface. This allows you to zoom and pan across the map to get any distances you require from hazards, carries, and green measurements.
It is pre-loaded with more than 35,000 courses which are regularly updated automatically when your watch is connected to WiFi. One feature I really like is the addition of lifestyle aspects, such as the heart rate monitor and step counter.
As always, I’ve got my hands on – and wrist in – one so keep an eye out for my full review coming soon.
Available: Late June
RRP: £299.95

Golf Pride have to their hybrid grips by introducing the MCC Teams collection.
Fifteen new colour combinations mean you can represent your favourite sports team every time you step out on the course. Don’t see your team colours? Don’t worry, because can request your own.
The MCC is a multi-compound design and fuses the performance of rubber and cord for the ultimate in feel and performance that has helped with more than 20 major champions.
My colleague Dan Murphy has snapped up a set of these in his beloved Leeds United’s colours and will give you his verdict in the coming weeks.
