Sounder Golf hoodie review
A wear every day, all the time, for golf, and not golf kind of hoodie. I love it.

Sounder Golf hoodie review: First impressions
I like to think of myself as the world’s leading authority on men’s hoodies, I must own about 20. I am not really bothered about the golf hoodie revolution – most of it is just a lot of very uncool people (sorry, Tyrrell) wearing clothes they think will somehow disguise an ultimately nerdy past time.
We end up with weird athwear that doesn’t do anyone any favours. Sounder, though, are different. This hoodie is the epitome of their stuff. It is a great hoodie first, and something that you can play golf in if you want.
The fisherman collar is right up my street. It means the fit is more flattering than no buttons and more stylish than a full length zip. The big buttons add to what is a slightly offbeat cut which is very much Sounder’s shtick.
Sounder Golf hoodie review: On the course
They fit properly, so there is plenty of room to move and not loads of excess material getting in the way. They are also nice and short in the sleeve and thick so plenty warm enough. I like the hand warmer style pouch, very handy in winter golf wear.
I have worn this under a jacket and like that the dark, but slightly pastel, blue goes with a variety of different coloured outerwear. You can never have enough hoodies and sweatshirts and this one ticks a lot of boxes.
It seems to work with a collared shirt underneath, or more typically a round neck polo but also with a snood. I think they have really nailed that collar.
Sounder Golf hoodie review: The 19th hole
This is the great thing about almost all of the Sounder stuff. You can just wear it for whatever. I have worn my hoodie to travel in, go to the office in, go to the pub in, and watch football in. It is just a cool top. There is the ubiquitous star, which in this case is stitched on, which adds texture and is the same blue as the hoodie meaning it is subtle and not at all garish – as is the Sounder way.
It is also worth saying that I have washed this a lot and it is still holding its shape and colour, it is an all-round great sweatshirt for men.
