Reflo Sidra trousers review: First impressions
Anyone who has seen me carefully scrutinising every container as I ponder which bin it can go in will know recycling and sustainability is something I’m awfully passionate about.
When you receive a box from Reflo, that shared passion smacks you right in the face. ‘I am made from plants, not plastic’, the bag protecting your latest purchase screams at you. ‘You can feel good about using me because I am 100% biodegradable. I will compost in 6 months,’ it adds, before a friendly reminder that ‘a plastic bag can take thousands of years’.
Under the huge ‘R’ logo, we’re told that Reflo ‘are committed to making high-quality apparel that makes you look and feel epic!’
It continues: ‘Our apparel is made using recycled plastic by people who have fair working conditions and wages. We think all apparel should be made this way, and you shouldn’t have to sacrifice and make positive choices. So let’s help each other look after the world we live in.’
And I haven’t even opened the bag yet!
Reflo make some really cool and stylish golf apparel, so I was more than happy to receive this package.
You know that feeling of slipping into an old, familiar piece of clothing you’ve had for years? How at home you feel in it? Reflo feels like that straight out of the box (and bag).
Reflo Sidra trousers review: On the course

There is an awful lot to like about the Sidra trousers.
The Flo-Fit fabric is a real game-changer. It allows the trousers to stretch as you move, without ever losing their shape. They’re also extremely breathable, which is something us golfers are always excited about.
Trousers are always a nuisance for me. I’m just shy of 6-foot-4 with a 33-inch waist. But who makes 33-inch waist trousers? No one, that’s who. I generally go up to a 34 and use a belt, but I didn’t need to with the Sidra, that’s how good the elasticated waistband is. There is also an inner-waistband that helps prevent your shirt from untucking, which is a lovely touch.
The Flo-Fit fabric doesn’t just benefit the fit, it’s also remarkably noticeable in the swing. How many pairs of trousers have you had down the years that shift during your swing and leave things in all the wrong places? (You know what I’m talking about, chaps.) The material is lightweight, but you won’t find them flapping about while you stand over a tricky two-footer.
I did get a small sprinkling of rain while I was out testing these, and I did notice how quickly they dried out when the sun returned a few moments later.
As for other features, there’s the standard two front pockets and two rear pockets – because do you really need any more than that? – which are all spacious, while the trousers fasten with a pop-button, which is a neat touch.
All in all, incredibly impressive, and a blueprint for what golf trousers should be.
And while £110 might feel like a monumental sum, you have to look at it as you won’t be replacing them for a long, long time. Can you call a pair of golf trousers an investment? I guess you can now.
