How does the Titleist Players 4 Stand Bag perform? Jack Backhouse emptied his bag into this one and went to find out!
Titleist bags are almost a status symbol. They project that you like your gear, you are prepared to pay for high-quality products and you are prepared to let your clubs do the talking for you out on the golf course.
I have been using a pencil bag for nearly 2 years now, but with the intermittent rain that is forecast for what feels like the rest of eternity, I could use the added pocket space and protection from the wet. So, how did I find this new Titleist carry bag? Find out in our Titleist Players 4 stand bag review.
If you’re looking for a new lightweight carry golf bag, they look no further than this one. It has plenty of pocket space and extremely comfortable adjustable straps, making it no chore to carry around the golf course.
It is extremely light even with 14 clubs and full pockets. The handle at the top makes it easy to get in and out the car. There is no faulting this golf bag.
This is a great-looking golf bag. I would have liked any of the five different colour choices Titleist offers in the Players 4 stand bag, but this all navy option is really cool. I couldn’t believe how light it was with nothing in it, weighing in at just 1.7kg.
I’ve been out of the stand bag game for several years, the last one I used regularly was also a Titleist, but is was too short and wouldn’t sit on a trolley so once I found a suitable pencil bag I have stuck with that.
I generally only use 8 or 9 clubs when playing, so I find that a half set looks ridiculous in most stand bags, so I was pleased when my set looked smart in the Players 4.
Titleist Players 4 Stand Bag: NCG Review
Growing up, all the best players at my club had Titleist carry bags. It was something to graduate to when you got your handicap low enough. Titleist have always been the brand for top players, and I bought my first one just to try to fit in.
I tested this golf bag on a showery morning at my home club Sand Moor, so it was really put through it’s paces. I tend to find myself on steep slopes to the sides of greens and never cancel a game due to rain, so I was eager to see how the bag stood up (or fell over) in my on-course adventures.

As I was doing the bag swap from pencil to new Players 4 Stand bag I was extremely pleased at how much room there is in the pockets. In a pencil bag, you often sacrifice some accessories and balls and snacks, but this is no issue in the Titleist bag, and actually, I found I was looking for more stuff to put in it to fill the pockets so that it wasn’t empty.
The 4-way divider is extremely well padded so there will be no issue with the shafts on my clubs wearing out, and there is just so much room for my clubs to go in and out. The bag is small, but its design makes it feel big and roomy, which is really clever.
The bag comes with premium double straps that can be clipped on or off depending on if you are carrying or putting it on a trolley – this is a really nice idea as I hate fighting with straps when the bag is on a trolley. It would have no problems sitting on a trolley.
Setting off I couldn’t help but find myself using both the straps when walking between shots; I have been single strapping for so long I thought it might be odd to use 2 staps again, but the bag is so comfortable on your shoulders it doesn’t make sense to do anything other than use both.
I really like valuables pocket for keeping my keys and wallet safe and organised away from the rest of the stuff I keep in the bag.
There is plenty of room in the main pocket to keep additional layers, or food and snacks for the journey round.

The bag has a lined drinks sleeve to keep your beverage cool on a hot day, and the balls pocket is easy to access for a quick provisional ball when needed. I found all of the pockets and features like the velcro glove landing patch all useful and easy to use when playing.
A golf bag should just make your life easier, and that is exactly what the Titleist Players 4 Stand bag did for me. I like how durable the legs feel and how my clubs stay drier for longer on a wet day. It isnt fully waterproof like the STADry cart bag Titleist sent me last year, but it is absolutely shower proof and good in adverse conditions.
As far as golf bag reviews go, this is extremely positive. I cannot recommend the Titleist Players 4 stand bag enough to golfers, it really is a great bag and will look after your clubs for many years.
