Driving ranges are awash with people desperate to get better. But are you making the most of your time? We spoke to one of the world’s best coaches to find out

practice better for golf

Do you get frustrated that your range game doesn’t translate to the course? I met the man credited with turning Francesco Molinari into a major champion to find out how you can get more out of your practice. Hint: it’s more simple than you think. Watch the video below to learn how you can practice better for golf…

How to practice better for golf: The main points

Many of us have been led to believe that the way to better scores is repetition. We head to the range with the aim of hitting bucket after bucket until we get it right. But did you know that even if you hit a bad shot, you’re still learning and improving? The key is to simulate the competition environment as much as possible. This often means you should limit the ball count and focus on quality rather than quantity.

Having worked with elite athletes across a range of sports, Dave Alred knows a thing or two about how to get people performing at their best. Want to learn more from Dave? You’ll have to watch the video…

I was speaking to Dave at an elite performance workshop put on by the Jenahura Tour Academy. If you’re an aspiring tour pro and want to find out how Jenahura can help, head to their website or find them on Twitter and Instagram.
