Cobra Limit3d Irons: The Technology
Forgiveness is something we all require from our irons as we look to hit the ball straighter and longer onto the putting surface. Cobra claimed to have done this by partnering with nTop – a leader in computational design software – in what they believe to have been an ambitious goal to create a compact player’s blade profile, that offers a similar level of forgiveness as an oversized, game improved club with the feel of a forged iron.

What makes these iron’s so forgiving?
Well, the irons were designed using nTop’s software and manufactured with 3D printing technology. The fully 3D printed 316L stainless steel body features an innovative internal lattice structure that allows 33% of the overall clubhead weight to be repositioned without sacrificing strength.
The unique design, which is only possible because of using 3D printing, allows for up to 100g of tungsten to be placed in the heel and toe areas of the clubhead, creating a low CG and an exceptionally high moment of inertia (MOI). Inertia, is essentially finding the best balance of speed and forgiveness.
Cobra believe that the result means that the irons posses distance comparable to a player’s distance or to their COBRA’s King Tec or Tec-X irons, which are their game improvement models of irons. They also believe the irons have the appropriate forgiveness that the average golfer, like you and me, need.

Appearance
Blade clubs are often associate with tour professionals and the lower handicappers. But, Cobra claim that have achieved their mission in producing an iron that has the look and feel of a compact blade, something desirable for the more accomplished golfer, with the forgiveness required by a more aspirational golfer, like myself.

Most golfers need irons that can offer feel, forgiveness and something that is ultimately pleasing on the eye to help their game develop. Cobra say that the final result of these Limit3d irons have exceeded expectations in looks, performance, and a soft feel designed to appeal to the more intermediate player.
