Callaway Ladies Full-zip Jacket

5 star review
Callaway Ladies Full-zip Jacket

This full zip jacket from Callaway has a half windproof design, half soft shell. It looks very smart in the all navy colourway, featuring two zipped pockets. The sleeves have room for thumb holes for added warmth during those colder rounds.

I’ve worn this jacket out on the course a couple of times now and have really liked it. It’s very easy to swing in thanks to the stretchy materials on the arms. I wore this in a medium as a uk8 in tops. I would say this was a good fit as it didn’t sit too tight and gave enough room to swing comfortably.

Overall, a great jacket that could easily be worn on or off the course.

PROS

  • simple design
  • easy to move in
  • zipped pockets

CONS

  • None

RRP: £59.00

Sizes: S-XXL

Callaway Ladies Quilted Puffer Jacket

National Club Golfer and National Club Golfer magazine
Callaway Quilted Puffer Jacket

This quilted puffer jacket from Callaway is very lightweight. It’s packed with insulation yet isn’t bulky like some jackets can be. The navy colourway has a glossy sheen to it in the sun and being a block colour works great with many outfit options.

I wore this jacket in a medium which was on the larger side as I’d usually wear a small but for winter time when you tend to have more layers on underneath it works well. I found it very easy to swing and move in on the course and enjoyed how much warmth it provided. I would say as a stand alone jacket the inside sleeves were the same material as the outer so wasn’t overly cosy.

This jacket also works great off the course which means that it’s a great garment to have in your wardrobe this autumn/winter

PROS

  • Lightweight
  • Packed with insulation
  • Smart design

CONS

  • None

RRP: £79.00

Sizes: S-XXL

Callaway Ladies Quilted Puffer Vest

5 star review
Callaway Ladies Quilted Puffer Vest
Callaway Ladies Quilted Puffer Vest
Callaway Ladies Quilted Puffer Vest

This Callaway Quilted Puffer Vest is a smart layering piece for cooler tee times. The quilted insulation across the front helps trap warmth which is ideal when the morning air bites. The sleeveless design ensures your arms are free to swing without restriction. The stretch fabric built into the sides is great for ease of movement and breathability all while not feeling too bulky or heavy. While the vest keeps the core cozy in the wind or chill, it may not replace a full jacket when temperatures drop further or the rain comes in. Overall it’s a very practical and stylish option for golfers seeking body warmth without compromising movement.

PROS

  • Cozy
  • Bright colour
  • Practical

CONS

  • None

RRP: £79.00

Sizes: S-XXL

Colours: Blue

Callaway Ladies Crewneck Jumper

4 star review
Callaway Ladies Crewneck Jumper

It’s been a while since I’ve worn a crew neck jumper to play golf as my wardrobe seems to be consumed by quarter zip and full zip midlayers. I really enjoyed the change of style and actually received several complements when in the clubhouse after my round regarding this jumper.

It’s a lightweight knit jumper that has enough stretch to it to feel comfortable hitting shots. I wore this in a medium which was a uk8 in tops was definitely the correct size. I would also say this jumper is more on the cropped side which I don’t always enjoy but I found I was quite flattering.

Overall, a great jumper and one that would work great under a gilet too as the weather drops colder.

PROS

  • Lightweight knit
  • Simple yet stylish

CONS

  • Cropped style might not suit all

RRP: £74.00

Sizes: S-L

Colours: White

Callaway Ladies 1/2 Zip Quilted Textured Top

5 star review
Callaway Ladies 1/2 Zip Quilted Textured Top

The design of this midlayer is different to anything that I own. It’s quarter zip design also features a gently curved hi-lo hem meaning that face it sits at a more cropped length but still gives coverage on the back.

The textured floral design in the blue colourway looks great. The material is also like a thick towel like texture that gives you a feeling that it’s going to keep you warm. I’ve wore this out on the course several times now and found it to do exactly that. With that said it’s not the stretchest of jumpers I’ve tried but wearing this in a medium as a uk8 gave me plenty of room to move and swing in.

This midlayer also features two zipped pockets on either side which is always very useful out on the golf course. Overall, I’ve really enjoyed wearing it and it will be worn plenty more in the coming months.

PROS

  • Unique design
  • Zipped pockets
  • Thick material

CONS

  • None

RRP: £88.99

Sizes: S-XL

Colours: Blue

Max Mcvittie

A bit of a late bloomer to the game of golf, Max fell in love with the sport when he attended Saturday coaching sessions down at his local golf club after being inspired by friends and family members.

Max has remained a member of Eden Golf Club in Carlisle for a number of years now as he looks to get his handicap down into single figures. Most of his golfing career has been spent battling a permanent slice off the tee, which has led to some ugly rounds.

Having studied at the University of Sunderland, Max is starting out his dream career in sports journalism. During his time at university, he picked up valuable work experience at Reach PLC, BBC Radio Cumbria and GiveMeSport, whilst also getting work published in the Teesside Live. He also spent time working at a local weekly newspaper, Eskdale and Liddesdale Advertiser, as a general news reporter partially covering some local sport just north of the border in Langholm.

Max has just started his journey with the NCG working as the assistant equipment editor. He looks forwarded to reviewing the latest golf equipment, taking up an interest in reviews when buying his first golf club, a Cleveland RTX wedge.

With his bag not going under too many changes throughout the last few years, Max carries an M3 driver, Titleist GT3 Fairway Wood, M2 hybrid, a set of M2 irons, Callaway Jaws wedges and a TaylorMade Spider putter. And yes, Max is a bit of a self-proclaimed TaylorMade fan boy.
