Diss from a Rose: Here’s one Ryder Cup star who looks like he’s choosing legacy over LIV
Justin Rose posted a photo of himself across social media at the weekend that suggests he isn’t ready to take Greg Norman’s call just yet
Justin Rose posted an interesting tweet on Sunday morning. Here it is in all its glory…
Yep, that’s JR, sitting in Team Europe Ryder Cup shirt, just days after his great pal Henrik Stenson was booted out of his captaincy role for making the LIV Golf move.
Just the tonic we needed.
And there are so many ways to take it.
Is he pledging allegiance to the Ryder Cup over the Saudi payday? (Because, let’s face it, he’s been asked.)
Is he throwing his hat into the ring to take over the job in Rome next September? (We could probably do with you in the playing ranks, Rosey.)
Is he sticking two fingers up at his former team-mate Stenson, with whom he took six points from eight over the course of the 2014, ’16, and ’18 Ryder Cups? (And, of course, Ian Poulter, Lee Westwood, Sergio Garcia, and Graeme McDowell.)
Or is it D) All of the above?
Having somewhat controversially missed out on the a spot on Padraig Harrington’s record-breaking team at Whistling Straits last time out, we’re confident we’ll be seeing Rose in yellow and blue when the plane touches down in Rome.
If this is Rose distancing himself from LIV Golf, it’s quite the turnaround from November, when he was incredibly defensive about our new golf overlord in an interview…
