What’s new? How much does it cost? And, how can it improve your game? Max McVittie brings you the lowdown on the TaylorMade Qi35 fairway woods and hybrids.
TaylorMade are widely considered to be one of, if the, most loved brand when it comes to metalwoods. You’ll find it hard not to see a TaylorMade wood or driver on the course and now they have updated their Qi range with the release of the Qi35 fairway woods and hybrids.
The brand have released a number of different fairway woods and hybrids, which comes after the success of the Qi10 series.
Let me talk you through the different models, which would be the best fit for your game and the technology included.
The Technology
TaylorMade fairway woods were the most played out of any brand on tour in 2024. Technologies like the Twist Face™, Thru-Slot Speed Pocket™, and an Infinity Carbon Crown were a big part of why their fairway woods were so successful and have been included in the Qi35 range. These are also included in the hybrids with the Thru-Slot Speed Pocket™ technology helping to provide consistent club face performance in all lofts.
All the Qi35 fairway woods utilise a multi-material construction that optimises mass placement for maximum performance.
The hybrids are also crafted through a multi-material construction which consists of chromium carbon, steel and aluminium. This increases versatility from any lie as well as promoting a consist level of performance.
Club fitting is at the forefront of the design of these fairway woods as they allow golfers to unlock another level of optimisation with the introduction of 4° loft sleeves.
High launch conditions are promoted within the Qi35 hybrids as they utilise more optimal CG locations. TSS weights are also used to enhance energy transfer for quicker club and ball speeds.
